@fieldsofbarley8 @ShabazzArts Or maybe it’s because she’s had ten billion harassment campaigns against her cuz y’all are obsessed with her but don’t treat fascists and Zionists with the same energy?

@bishara a lot of these parents had kids simply for the sake of it, being married with children was the easiest way to fit into society back then. esp for men to look good for employers. once the kids have grown and stop being cute or dependent, they have essentially served their purpose.

many of my friends in their 30’s were living paycheck to paycheck and started from from scratch while their boomer parents are living a lavish rich selfish lives refusing to trickle down a single penny to their own kids, not even for college or a used car, while their 5 cars sitting collecting dust in their garage
katexbt.hl@katexbt

an alarming number of my friends in their 30s are being denied a decent life by their boomer parents not willing to sell one of their many rental properties and helping out their children when odds are stacked against them

i could be going out on a limb here but i think one reason why women prefer kastle is bc matt is so damn flaky. u wouldn't catch me going back to a man after walking into his apartment and finding his ex in his bed and hiding her existence from me for weeks

Claude AI has stolen and bastardized the work of many, including @inspiredtaste. Defending the horrors of GenAI makes about as much sense as one of Claude's nightmarishly butchered recipes. SUPPORT HUMAN CREATION. CHEFS, ARTISTS AND BEYOND. GET LOUDER ABOUT GENERATIVE AI NOW.
Inspired Taste@inspiredtaste

@pot8um @emiliesyverson @claudeai @lilyraynyc Thank you for the support! 🙏 The only saving grace has been the incredible supportive advocacy from other creators, journalists, and thoughtful people that have helped speak out against content theft like this. seroundtable.com/googles-ai-fra…

@ogcogcogcogcogc I'm genuinely sorry. I used to be a TEFL teacher which is a far cry from the level at which you teach, but I get you. Unfortunately, people like this Spencer guy have been brainwashed and/or simply do not care.

I agree (sadly) that “zero AI” is probably a dead end in the long term but something I can’t reconcile in all these attempts to conjure a pro-AI political left is that generative AI has made the conditions of my job (teaching history at a university) 500x worse with zero upside
∿spencer.@_ontologic

The lack of any fundamental curiosity at all about AI from the left has been one of the most discouraging things of my life, but that’s okay because I will simply become the epicenter of a new and cooler left that likes technology

@ZoomerTechlead @ACPMain in an actual communist society AI WOULD be a good thing so from their end it makes sense - BUT it makes more sense for leftists right now to push for regulation as much as possible instead of this uncontrolled growth and mass proliferation

@_ontologic the good does not outweigh the bad (an ethos which should apply to anything in life). the sneaky thing about LLMs is that they are currently aiming to disempower ppl until they are completely dependent on it. u think the ppl behind these AI corps have good intentions?

Leftists cancelling me for using Claude code and cooking based off the Google AI recipe suggestions… I see why that political movement has absolutely zero power. 🫠

@ExistentialEnso the American urge to instantly label anything as "far left" the moment anyone critiques anything that encourages u to be even lazier. it's actually fascinating

@null_nullspace @AmericaIsAmalek you would be amazed at how many qualified people in the sustainability field itself get suckered in by AI. It's depressing. Head of Sustainability where I used to work had a GPT-generated pfp on Slack. PhD from Oxford mind u

@fieldsofbarley8 @AmericaIsAmalek Honestly kind of terrifying this white guy from the imperial core has built a career posing as someone who defends indigenous rights then he gets defensive about things like conflict minerals or the water bankruptcy AI is accelerating in the global south. What a fraud

@sharifhsn @AbeIndoria @_ontologic I'm an environmental + animal activist who loves nature which is a big reason why I can't stand AI. Anyway I cant take any more questions as its late here and I'm off to bed. Goodnight!

@fieldsofbarley8 @AbeIndoria @_ontologic Seems like you’re a rare individual that is consistent on this issue. I would only ask that you judge people who do any of those as harshly as you judge those who use AI.

@fieldsofbarley8 @sharifhsn @_ontologic >the environmental impacts it has The only environmental impact it has that is of any considerable nature is electricity consumption, and that's why people are pushing for more power generation. Re: water, no. If you're not vegan, you can't use that argument.

@_ontologic @AbeIndoria @sharifhsn the proven cognitive damage it has on the brain, the natural spaces being destroyed to create data centres, creatives and artists losing their work and livelihood to machines, the addictive nature of AI itself to those who are lonely. How is that justifiable?

@AbeIndoria @sharifhsn @_ontologic how will that help with: ppl standing to lose their jobs, getting addicted to robots, nature being destroyed to build data centres, water wastage, the (proven) cognitive damage it has on the brain? genuinely asking

@fieldsofbarley8 @sharifhsn @_ontologic There are people excited about more open models which are slowly closing the gap between more proprietary models controlled by large labs for example. But instead of recognizing that, you pick the most negative extreme (AI "partner" chatbots) and run with it. Why?
