@DrAnnieHickox As someone who is in the vast relatively overlooked 'middle' I have mixed feelings about the Neurodivergence movement. I struggle to identify with it. Or more accurately the 'movers and shakers' within the movement .

The Neurodivergence movement is patient led, and not to be confused with neurodiversity (the term erroneously used below).
MHPs need to be more respectful to patients who are struggling without the support and services they need.

Introspection in collectivist cultures is where the spiritual element orientates a person away from a self-focus and towards a sense of connection with the wider universe, in order to diminish not feed the ego. The neurodiversity trend does the opposite.

@DAVIDPO62726639 @BlokeOnWheels She will get 11k from PIP then about 18/19k from universal credit on top which will cover her rent etc. Plus she won’t have to pay for medications, free public transport, limited council tax etc. I sometimes wonder why tf I’m still working 50 hours a week

@DrAnnieHickox What has helped you? For me it's been very life restricting. Quite severe social anx runs alongside it.

@firemonkey1957 Yes, I experienced a recurrence of GAD following my brother’s unexpected death last autumn.
I still experience waves of it but it is starting to settle.

GAD (generalised anxiety disorder) can be tenacious once it gets a grip.
I’d love to hear how others have experienced this.

@DrAnnieHickox @wyvernsrose And really difficult to treat. We don’t have good drug treatments for GAD and many people don’t get better with CBT.

@DrAnnieHickox I was 5 - 6 when my 1st school in Bangkok recommended I be assessed due to difficulties I had. What was then the 'S' word was suspected. Results from testing at Gt Ormond street were negative. There was no looking into possible alternatives...
