I am honoured to announce that His Excellency President Carlos Manuel Vila Nova of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe has granted agrément for me to serve as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to that beautiful island nation. São Tomé and Príncipe holds a special place in the heart of Africa. These two islands sitting in the Gulf of Guinea carry a rich history, a resilient people, and a spirit that I look forward to engaging with deeply. My accreditation to São Tomé and Príncipe comes in addition to my current posting as Zambia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Angola, resident here in Luanda. I will soon travel to São Tomé to formally present my Letters of Credence from His Excellency Dr. Hakainde Hichilema to President Carlos Manuel Vila Nova. That moment will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between Zambia and São Tomé and Príncipe. Diplomacy is about people. It is about building bridges across waters, across languages, across histories. Zambia and São Tomé and Príncipe are both children of the African story. We have more that connects us than separates us. I am grateful to Dr. Hakainde Hichilema for the trust he continues to place in me. Voting is a popularity contest, not a leadership contest & so it’s pointless to discuss leadership track record but better to manage fame as that’s what produces who “leads” us. We have reversed roles: best singers are chosen by experts while leaders by popularity…😂😂

Any democracy is as good as the education system sorrounding it. Debates are unnecessary for elections in a country where the education system has no debates. If rumours and gossip are the main means ordinarily, these become useful in elections too.

@BuyoyaJonah When I read this “only one of two” part didn’t sound right, so I checked and that's not the case countries like United Kingdom, Denmark, Malta, Costa Rica and many others formally recognize or establish Christianity in different ways. This is misleading

The Socialist Party is a decidedly far left political organization. It literally says so on the tin. They are progressives. Ideologically, I'm not far left. I'm centre left. That distinction matters. So yes, I can see the merit to Fred's individual qualities and ideas.
