@ColeFusionHQ Friend of my cousin is known as Forrest. They took him out surfing for the first time and after an hour he said he needed to go use the toilet. They told him surfers just go in their wetsuits, not realising he meant #2. This was mid-90s so he was Forrest Dump from then on.

@Perky_43 I was a police control room operator 2006-2007 doing 9s and radio. Still haunted by it, still have nightmares, still cry when anything reminds me. Diagnosed with cPTSD last year. After I left, telling them I was having a breakdown, I got ONE follow-up phonecall as "after care".

Paramedic Rebecca McLellan tragically died by suicide in November 2023 at the age of only 24. As part of the inquest into her death,her final note has been publicly released. It tells of her despair and inability to see a way through her struggles. It literally breaks our hearts to see any 999 worker, but even one so young coming to the conclusion that leaving life is the only way to end suffering. It makes us more resolute to provide quick effective assistance to members of the 999 services who are facing such battles in the name of those who couldn’t find a way through. Rebecca’s note read: “People can survive pretty much everything as long as they can see an end in sight” “Unfortunately for me, I cannot. All I can do is wait for the inevitable fall again.” “I miss the person I used to be. Unfortunately, that girl is long gone. I’ve been running this race for a little too long and now my legs are tired. “I know there are those out there who love me, and to those people I thank you from the bottom of my heart” “I love you all tremendously”. “Please know that I tried” “I really did.” This is the unseen reality of the emergency services We hope that Rebecca is at peace. @recovery_your I'm glad you're still here. I was really concerned when I read those posts because I know how it feels to wait for help only to be turned down because you're apparently "not bad enough yet". The NHS doesn't prevent people reaching crisis, they wait till they're already there 😪

Thank you to everyone who has supported me over this past few days. Getting that email from the nhs on Tuesday that has denied me mental health support nearly pushed me to do something there’s no coming back from.. Constantly told to talk, reach out, but it’s all bullshit, when you do reach out there is zero support, fucking shameful service. Shameful

Today is the 33rd anniversary of the day the IRA bombed Warrington town centre and killed my son Tim and 3 yr old Johnathan Ball. Words can never describe how losing a child leaves a huge hole in your heart and your family. Eternal love Tim ❤️❤️

I worked as an aide 14 yrs in public school. One afternoon in 5th grade a kid asked the teacher, What's Prussia? The teacher answered, what we called Russia a long time ago. Oh no no no, I stood up from my chair in the corner. Nope. Not today, lady with apples on her pockets.

He asks if I've ever read the Farseer Trilogy & says he's never cried so much as he did reading those & that if I ever felt unloved and alone as a child, it'll break me. I read it and wept.

@TheStaad I grew up in the Elim Pentecostal Church. There was a section of every service where the whole congregation would pray in tongues, so 90+ people would simultaneously spout complete gibberish for several minutes. The noise was God-awful...in every sense of the term!

Biblically, the gift of tongues occurs when someone who doesn’t know a particular foreign language begins to speak that language intelligibly This “Yabba-dabba-doo” nonsense is all for show

@arnesa_kustura I hate people using "narcissist" as a synonym for "abuser". My ex isn't a narcissist, she's just an abuser, and I'm trauma-bonded to her in the sense that I can't stop pining after her because the one who hurt me is the only one who can make me feel better...or anything at all.

I really wish that certain words just stayed in the psychiatry books where they belong because no, not everyone you dislike is a narcissist. Not everything is gaslighting. Attachment styles are not a personality trait. Trauma bond does not mean “bonding over shared trauma”.

@DicconHyatt Yes! I often find myself reading a new book to my kids at bedtime and stumbling over lines that have three or four too many syllables or stressed syllables in the wrong places. You're right, it's like nobody read them aloud before publishing. My kids don't care but I suffer! 😉

It's crazy how often you pick up a children's book and find it's poetry but the author made no attempt at having any kind of meter whatsoever. Like no one at any point in writing, editing, or publishing it knew what meter is or tried to read it out loud

Dawson's Creek encapsulated that moment between adolescence and adulthood when the possibilities were endless and all the world was new. Feeling very nostalgic for that lost innocent time of the late 1990s when the life ahead of us was fuelled by childhood dreams. RIP James x
