The only issue I have with this is that the policy is sexist. Women are just as capable of serving their country and have proved they can excel in certain career fields in the military.
Selective service needs to be updated so that both men and women are automatically registered to serve this great nation!

The reason Marx is popular with so many intellectuals is that it’s such a middle class wet dream. Despite all the chatter about the triumph of the proletariat, Marxism in practice always puts some set of dissident intellectuals in power, and so intellectuals who crave unearned power are drawn to it.

@g0thmath @JMGreerWriter Christianity was deemed incompatible with Marxists state by Lenin/Stalin. Marx can lift ideas out of Christianity; that doesn't make his thought Christian. Much like socialism has co-opted the concept of the Commonwealth, supporting common good programs doesn't make you socialist

the essence of christianity is the golden rule, not belief in god. marxism was co-opted by corrupt power hungry militants to cultivate popular support. marxism directly from marx is more about humanitarian economics, and it was heavily influenced by christian economic movements that preceded it.

Marxist theory & communism is not associated w/ Christian values & is philosophically aethiestic. Western democracies are informed by christian values and a belief in God, and views the states role as protecting the rights of the individual bc those human rights are endowed by God the creator. Marxist theory does not belive in God or a creator or the sanctity of the human individual, but places its focus on the collective/group identity, and the collective/group should be in the service of whatever the collective/group decides is important to the collective. There is no "inaliable human right" to anything, even to life. You live and die at the whims of the group. It has more to do with "mob rule" than does Christian values.
