I am literally shaking. Some teenager threw a rock off an overpass and did this to my truck. I caught him, and his dad had the nerve to say, "He’s just a kid being a kid, I’ll give you $50 for the 'inconvenience'." $50?? This is a specialized windshield with sensors! He told me I was "ruining a child’s future" by calling the police. I feel like he’s raising a criminal and expects me to pay for it. Do I press full charges?

What's odd and a somewhat disappointing about Pope Leo's response here is that he diminishes the importance of sexual morality, saying there are "much larger and more important issues--such as justice, equality, the freedom of men and women, and religious freedom."
Setting aside that sexual morality affects these "larger issues" (especially as they concern the family), the specific question he's responding to here concerns the German bishops' blessing of same-sex couples, which he says the Holy See disagrees with, and that disagreement has been communicated to the German bishops.
So in Germany, the question of sexual morality, and specifically that of gay couples, is important enough that the German bishops are risking schism with Rome over it, and indeed are right now in open rebellion!
On that basis alone, it would seem that sexual morality is indeed one of the most important issues facing the Catholic Church today, and it would be helpful if the pope's comments reflected that reality.

JUST IN: Pope Leo XIV responds to Cardinal Marx — Says Vatican does not approve blessing of same sex couples. Adds a blessing can be given to “all people” like at the end of Mass. Leo states—— “First of all, I believe it is very important to understand that the unity or division of the Church should not revolve around sexual issues. We tend to think that when the Church speaks of morality, the only moral issue is a sexual one. In reality, I believe there are much larger and more important issues—such as justice, equality, the freedom of men and women, and religious freedom—that should take priority over that particular issue. The Holy See has already spoken with the German bishops. The Holy See has made it clear that we do not agree with the formal blessing of couples—in this case, same-sex couples, as you requested—or of couples in irregular situations, beyond what Pope Francis has specifically permitted by saying that all people should receive the blessing. When a priest gives the blessing at the end of Mass, when the Pope gives the blessing at the end of a great celebration like the one we had today, there are blessings for all people. Francis’s famous expression, “everyone, everyone, everyone,” expresses the Church’s conviction that everyone is welcomed, everyone is invited, everyone is invited to follow Jesus, and everyone is invited to seek conversion in their own lives. To go beyond this today, I believe, could cause more disunity than unity, and that we should seek to build our unity on Jesus Christ and on what Jesus Christ teaches. This is my answer to the question.

A friend, with experience, told me this was par for the course.
I finally left.

@Afo3 I have family members that worked for companies ran by Chinese nationals, and it's atrocious. They won't even hire qualified Americans over unqualified Chinese nationals if they don't have to.
On X, India X is the most vitriolic I've seen out in the open, though.

Both groups, especially post-1990 arrivals, have an absurdly insane in-group bias and refuse to assimilate.
This is because they have a false, unearned sense of superiority over Americans--the living conditions of those two countries serve as proof of that falsity.
I can't imagine African nations wanting hordes of KKK members to move in to their countries--why should we let hundreds of thousands of people into ours that are essentially Han or Hindu supremacists?
Yeah, it's not *all* of them, but it's far too many to say that we shouldn't drastically reduce these numbers. We shouldn't have communities in Northern DFW becoming unrecognizable overnight while Native-born Americans struggle to find employment.
Immigration is a game of diminishing returns. It's why we stopped pretty much all immigration in the 1920s, and that was with almost all immigration up to that point coming from Western nations.
It's why Armenians in Glendale that came over more recently engage in Medicare fraud, while Armenian arrivals to Metro Detroit in the 1910s-1940s contributed greatly to their communities. I don't have some sort of ridiculously unhealthy in-group preference to understand the nuance here, and I'm glad Marco Rubio banned naturalizations from Armenia.
When it comes to India, you first got people like JD Vance's father-in-law in the 1970s. Today, you get Siraj Unpronouncablelastname from a mid-tier caste who fakes his credentials, comes here on an H1B visa to work an entry-level coding job that should have gone to a US-born STEM grad, refuses to mow his lawn, brings over his wife that refuses to dress in Western attire, and demands that a giant statue of a Hindu deity be placed in your town square in Texas as some sort of humiliation ritual. Enough is enough.

The earliest Christian church was a blend of Romans and Eastern Orthodox.
Rome didn't insult the Eastern church into a split until the second century.
And there were five centers of the church before then.
Just another Roman myth.
