Kaikai loves her little rituals, and the roadside dust bath cannot be missed. It has to be this very specific spot; no other stretch of road will do! She approaches at a sprint, then sits back and enjoys as Keepers David and Jonas spare no dusty detail. Kaikai is here today because of supporters like you. We’re laughing our way down memory lane with Toto! Our bull-with-a-heart-of-gold just embarked on the next step in his journey back to the wild, but we will always remember him as the sweet, sensitive soul we rescued four years ago. One of our favourite Toto memories: when his adopted little sister, Korbessa, would jailbreak him out of his stable in the evening! Korbessa is as precocious as Toto is precious – he would never break the rules, but she has always been happy to flout them. Unwilling to adhere to bedtime, she happily ushered her ‘big bother’ our of his room so the pair could enjoy some extra playtime before the sun set. Now, Toto is tiptoeing into independence in Tsavo while Korbessa is leading her own herd at Kaluku. Meet Wangalla. She is the most enchanting little elephant – bright, curious, and brimming with character. Rescued as a newborn, she was found amongst a herd of zebras and has now been adopted by our resident flock of birds. @godzilla_84 Only recall she went to a guardian family? They moved I think? Don’t know if she went with them or turned over to another home. There wasn’t much info on her once she was released. Sorry don’t know more. She was a cute little pup, those usually have an easier time getting placed

Snapshots from our Voi Reintegration Unit – which is your favourite? 1. Seri: She's the herd's quiet observer – steady, watchful, and never the first into a squabble. 2. Thamana, giving Ashanti a kiss. He's a sensitive one – the kind of bull who entwines trunks with his best friends and stands close to his Keepers when something startles him. 3. Ndotto, ears out, making sure he's seen. He's a senior bull now, ex-orphan, and confident in himself. The dependent orphans all look up to him when he visits.
