I slept till 11:30 ish.
Caught up on some news
Picked up several RX’s
Grabbed a few things from the grocery store and now settled back in.
This was an exciting and active day. 🤣🤣🤣

@taichiwawa @NiktNiemand I was stationed on a ship home ported in Pearl. We definitely got our number of both cannon and rifle salutes.

@graywolf442 @NiktNiemand 50-some years ago I was stationed at Headquarters Marine Corps, right next to the cemetery. Officer funerals were accompanied by volleys of canon-fire salutes you could clearly hear, even indoors.

On June 2, 2025, Sergeant of the Guard Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Jay took his final walk as a Tomb Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. In a powerful farewell, he laid roses at each crypt of the Unknown Soldiers, then walked off the plaza hand in hand with his 8-year-old son, Finn.
