Obviously we want the theocratic catastrophe in Tehran gone. That has always been the position of any person with functioning brain cells. But here is the thing. The white-haired catastrophe currently occupying the White House has managed something truly remarkable. He has made people genuinely uncertain which regime is the greater threat to civilized life. If people had this knowledge in advance, it’s unlikely that Minns would be Premier of NSW … Australian politicians need to be working for Australians not foreign governments… “Chris Minns did not arrive at this moment by accident. These Nazi-esque warmongers could even use nuclear weapons to “extort and threaten” other nations and start WWIII, he says, and must be stopped. “You need to confront a totalitarian, aggressive, imperialistic, insane regime that wants to expand and take over its region.” Which country is that, again?

@RavenZech2 It is completely believable, even though it is a skit. because we have all witnessed the haphazard and illegal and stupid aggressive behaviour of ICE offices for ages now. It has become the status quo for anything ICE.

Penny Wong tells the Greens to “at least call on Iran to deescalate.” Iran — the country that was struck first. Has she called on Israel or the US to deescalate? Even once? This is the same logic as Trump blaming Ukraine for being invaded. Meanwhile he’s now openly threatening to “take” Cuba-after threatening Greenland; Canada -now bombing 8 countries. He’s blockaded Cubas oil, collapsed their power grid, and captured Venezuela’s president in a military raid. This is imperialism on steroids. And Australia? We fall in line every time. Deploy military assets. Back the war. Ask no questions. Then blame Iran when Australians can’t fill their cars — because we import 90% of our fuel and never planned for the consequences of conflicts we helped enable. We’re not an ally. We’re a sycophant.

Ex Australian Rugy Union players that have gone into politics are a bit of a rarity. I can only recall three of them: David Pocock, Michael Cleary and (You) Peter FitzSimmons. Your political work was in advocacy though whilst the other two campaigned and were voted in. It is a bit surprising that more ex players haven't given it a go. (Maybe we don't pay them enough.) Let me know if I have missed any.
