3 years ago today, I recovered keys to a wallet that I thought was lost. I spent months trying to brute force access. Why? Inside were three @cryptopunks that I claimed on June 11, 2017! The @v1punks purple in my pfp represents a badge that doesn't exist...Punk Claimer!

I don’t act anything like Gary. Gary hates the world because people don’t collect his art for high prices and he’s been here a long time. I’ve been here a long time, I’ve always sold my art for whatever someone would pay, I go to bat for people constantly who don’t respect me (like Gary) and I have actually devoted my time to trying to save the sanctity of the space. Anyone who has been here for more than a minute will tell you that Gary and I are basically polar opposites. The only similarity we probably have is an increasing likelihood of suicide due to undeniable futility because ultimately what happens to this space depends on the collective actions of people who don’t care about this space and only used it to extract.

It’s actually entirely possible that every single crypto punk was minted by someone with specific goals of extracting capital from unsuspecting people using game theory and exploitation of human tendencies. Does anyone know of a verified minter who can prove they minted a punk that cannot be classified as an extractor or taker type of individual?

@NFTWannabe I'm not a follower and have liked the web since 1995. I enjoy experiencing new and inventive things and not exclusively married to the crypto space. I'm a technologist that sees a future enabled by it. Honestly can't even believe I've wasted this much time responding to you.

So what attracted you to crypto punks specifically? Why was crypto punks your “aha” moment? And extrapolate on what you mean “you were about the tech” because that is an ambiguous catchphrase that i would expect to hear from 6529 but actually means absolutely nothing. What was it about the tech that you were about? Do your actions during your time here reinforce your notion of what you were about?

My first foray into smart contracts was a protest token I made as a refutation to the most powerful banker in the world telling crypto coders to stop trying to make their own money. His name is Augustin Carstens. This was the article. I created a token, named it Carstens Coin (MONEY). I created a website and attempted to get people to organize using the token as a symbol of protest.

No unfortunately you fit the mold pretty well. You minted crypto punks because you were drawn to its potential as a vehicle for fabricating value by gamifying human tendency. Thats literally what Matt and John hint at in their posts on product hunt. And your timeline is the nail in the coffin. First mint…crypto punks. Next mint and tweet was three years later for chromie squiggles. Is there any basis to believe you that you were actually inspired by that product hunt post? Which comment on that page is yours?

You have more plausible deniability than most of the people. But you did specifically mint a zombie, you did specifically focus on the value aspect. You default to the salty insult which is grifter tell all. Your tweets feature a who’s who of grifters…. I see one tweet of an artist that actually had real cypher punk ethos….welll…. Marginal ethos. Gary has actually turned out to be a fairly self serving individual who doesn’t actually believe in any of the core ethos and is “foldable” to money by his own admission.

Five years ago today I bought CryptoPunk #1111, paying 1.111 eth ($445) and made it my profile picture. Which I haven't changes since finding him! While I don't ever where a silver chain, I'm quite fond of this digital character and very pleased to use him as my digital representation. Thank you TJ!!!
