Once you view lesbianism as a dynamic rhizomatic expanse of different experiences it becomes way more easy to understand than some static platonic definition
dykeline (f: kat)@dykeline
as a lesbian i personally have always felt really uncomfortable being defined as a ‘non-man who loves non-men,’ i think there’s nuance and others really connect to the definition but i’ve always felt really dehumanized when people put it onto me

@julianboolean_ richard pearse flew a plane on 31 March 1903 but he crashed it into a hedge. the wright brothers first flew in December 1903; they didn’t really have a practical aircraft until 1905, but split the difference and 1904 makes sense imo.

@hazel_ost huh very interesting
we did get airplanes in 1905 which is pretty major so im a little reluctant to go that early

@KiddSpade1 I really don’t understand the impulse to moan and declare that we’re doomed just because we’re not like some huge touristy city in Western Europe. If you want to experience culture, you have to look for it and participate in it! Otherwise go live in Europe if it’s so much better.
English

@KiddSpade1 Skill issue; this is strictly a suburban malaise. You gotta be proactive. Move to Wellington, go to local arts and music events regularly, be friendly to people in the smoking area… then try and tell me with a straight face that we have no culture.

This is real and the lack of it is why living in New Zealand makes you want to kill yourself

Biggest update from visiting Paris: the lived culture matters more than I thought. Everyone eats and drinks out. People walk around a lot. They’re very social. Still lots of activity at 2am Friday and Saturday It’s amazing

@_colourmeamused glad you enjoyed it! it's a good place to live imo.

@GirlDebord @HumanWaveAtt4ck look up Halvsugd from Norway they make transgender sludge!!
English

@HumanWaveAtt4ck I realize that but tbh I don't really know how to look. I can't imagine plugging "transgender sludge bands" into Google would yield me any good results
