@GergelyOrosz The one-off payment needs to evenly get payed out to every employee. Great in terms of equality, but can be a caveat for companies who have strongly varying contracts (eg interns ); although inflation affects everyone, of course.

Today I learned that while inflation is around ~8.5% in Germany, the German government, to help with this, allowed a one-off, deduction-free €3,000 payment from employers (free of tax and social security). Many tech companies, I hear, are taking full advantage of this.

@GergelyOrosz Handing over your stuff in 2 weeks (you usually have remaining vacation) is sufficient. Lots of turnover happening in startups so many people are around <2y. There’s not much you can have fundamentally created that someone a) can’t take over or b) has the courage to state dead

@GergelyOrosz We have 6mo for members of the board. When we started finexity.com we had 3mo in standard contracts but went down to 1mo.

From a tech lead lead in Germany: “My company wants to modify my contract to increase my notice period from 3 months to 6 months. They say this is normal for leadership positions. What is your take?” My take is I never saw this save for C-level & those making above €1M in TC.
