#ChatGPT can program an NMBS app for you on top of the iRail API! We asked it to create an overview of all delayed train departures in Brussels South. After a little bit of feedback, it came up with this 👇 Seems like a cool tool for rapidly prototyping an idea!

@BartHanssens @FFeys Er zijn wel degelijk mensen die de historie van de treinen al hebben gecombineerd met dit. Reliability score was er een van, maar dat was een tijdelijk experiment. Eens zien of onze community nog ideeën kan aangeven

Op welk uur van de dag zijn de meeste treinen afgeschaft? Hoeveel treinreizigers werden getroffen? Dat zijn de statistieken die ik wil zien. Dit is behoorlijk nutteloos: opendata.infrabel.be/explore/datase…

So, that was a rush! Old @NMBS API we scraped from went down. NMBS was so kind to reactivate it... But only for 2 weeks. @BertMarcelis and an awesome #iRail community just redeployed a new implementation of the entire API so that everything is working again just fine!

@WVDorsselaer Bedankt voor de melding, een wijziging van de data zorgt inderdaad voor een crash. Ik lost het op in een update en vraag ondertussen bij @iRail om die wijziging ongedaan te maken.

@BartRosseau @datanews_nl Klopt. Vooral hopen dat deze gegevens nu ook in een goed formaat ter beschikking komen voor onze community. Hun eigen data zullen uiteraard beter zijn (input van conducteurs). Een overleg met @nmbs staat ingepland!

@BartHanssens Blij dat er wordt nagedacht over betere informatie en als we daar een inspiratie voor waren zijn we in onze opzet geslaagd ;) Hoop wel dat ook de drukte-data van NMBS zelf terug als open data worden gesteld!

@tomklaasen @SweetCharlie Ja, maar coole is: we zijn in contact met @nmbs en geven elkaar raad. Soms kan je gewoon geen extra trein of wagon aanschakelen door praktische of financiële redenen, en dan is betere informatie gewoon cruciaal.
