@PaulSpacey Some great points . I would add US sporting culture is obsessed with the “measurables”. what makes a player world class cant be measured. The amount of options a soccer player has available to him on any given play is endless. This situational decision making is the difference.

For me the biggest miss in American soccer isn’t the LeBron James’ and so on. It’s the countless Division 1 5’8-11 slot wide receivers/corner backs whose change of direction and agility would have been unstoppable on a score pitch

Soccer is the hardest sport in the world to play. To put it in perspective you can take any active NBA/NFL player and they would not one who be able to get by me and score I haven’t touched a ball in 3 years. I’d put 100k on it.

@windowintlpod TLDR; US is better than people said in here, Senegal had in paper a very similar team to what we will see in the WC except for Koulibaly not being there, and they still struggled against a USA starting team in the first half. So I expect US to top their group with Turkey.
