My daughter and I built this replica of Augusta National #12 out of Lego. We are planning to sell it to raise money for charity. Enjoy!

Nah. It’s silly. Where what you want is how it should be. You are affected by an untucked shirt the same as you are affected by someone wearing a blue shirt. Let’s make a simple but classy rule that says you are only allowed to wear green shirts. That’s just as arbitrary as a rule that says you need to tuck in your shirt.

If you play on tour, you should tuck your shirt in. Pretty simple

My honest reaction to this is pretty simple. The data from Arccos has always been powerful. I have seen firsthand how much it can help golfers understand their games, make better decisions, and help them focus on the things that actually lower scores. But I never really liked the feel of sensors on my clubs. Now that problem is solved. I think Arccos Air is going to resonate with a lot of golfers who wanted the insights, but did not want anything attached to the grip. That friction is gone, and that changes the equation for a lot of people. Really smart product. Really meaningful step forward. (Use code DATALOU15 to save 15%) arccosgolf.com/pages/arccos-a…

@CraiggGurd I sometimes grip the club right at the end of the grip on some shots, and when you do that, your hand can rub up against the sensor and sometimes the sensor can move a bit. I do not like that feeling.

@LouStagner That’s nice, I said this in another comment but what was everyone’s issue with the club sensors? I have had clubs come with them but never registered them and honestly couldn’t tell they were there really.

@SashoMacKenzie @6thFairway @PuttView @TheStackSystem Curious, are the same greens used for every tester? Same ball? Same exact protocols? I think you would agree that if the answer to any of those is NO, you would be including an unnecessary variable to a test that the only variable should be the two putter styles.

Does anyone know why the Old Course Hotel (built in 1968) is so close to the 17th hole? What made them decide to put up a giant building nearly in the middle of the 17th hole? Especially when there is so much land available and the building was not forced to be this close. It's certainly interesting and different, just curious if any historians know what the thinking was? That yellow line is 230 yards long and the end of it is only about 34 yards from where OB would be.

@ReteeFor3 @giovanettigolf And if it’s the same putt over and over, you get grooves on the putting surface, even artificial surface, which makes putting easier. Was the putting surface “brushed” to remove the groove? How often? Did they rotate order of putters used? Etc…

What is the skill level of the testers? How many testers? What surface did they putt on? Most of the make rates you listed from the test group are better than pga tour average make rates.

Blade vs Mallet Putters — What the Data Actually Says We analyzed 43,000+ putts using our algorithm and the @PuttView testing system to answer a simple question: Do mallet putters outperform blades? Short answer: Yes. And it’s not particularly close. Here’s what we found 👇 1️⃣ Overall Performance 2.6 stroke advantage for mallets. And it wasn’t just one or two golfers skewing the results. (85%) testers putted better with a mallet.

@capitalismandf1 Make rates at your local muni aren’t better than tour average. Not even close. And for the record, make rates for shorter makeable putts are highest at Augusta (because the greens are so pure).

@LouStagner Most likely they didn’t test on PGA speed greens or with as severe breaks. Making rates at my local muni are very different than at the Masters.

@LouStagner Seems natural to ask but does it really matter. Let’s say it’s all pros (doubtful) then I believe the findings. Let’s say it’s a true mix of skill levels. Even if the worst of the group didn’t improve, there was still improvement with a mallet. Right?

Is it odd that such a mediocre course (your words, not mine) is the most copied golf course in the world? I am fine with your opinion- it was shared by Sam Snead- but across the board some of the greatest thinkers in the game like Bernard Darwin to the greatest players of all-time like Jack and Tiger have called it the greatest- what does that say, if anything to you? Again - I have no issues with your opinion. It’s not my #1 but it’s certainly on my list of greatest golf courses. I absolutely adore it.
