@DapperDomo The ironic part is in most of the country, when you die, you can divide your land however you want, bypassing most land use regulations and cost!

Slashing regulations doesn’t make the price of homes cheaper. It’ll mean builders can cut corners and pump more profit.

@KATUNews This is common in most states since 1970s, making splitting of lots almost always economically unviable. Laws should make it easier to split upto 4 lots.

@waDNR There have been unsanctioned trails since DNR closed NF/Slide Mtn in 2005. DNR's failure to provide a managed motorized area in Whatcom county is why these trails exist. ORV groups used to sponsor trash cleanups, but since being chased off by DNR, those stopped.

We like to keep things light on here. But we need to talk about this. We’ve made the difficult decision to close Sumas Mountain to vehicle access due to garbage dumping, timber theft, and unsanctioned trails that are impacting salmon-bearing streams (1/5)
