The Man Who Paid In & The Man Who Paid Nothing. Meet Frank, the man who paid in. Frank turned 80 last winter. He grafted 52 years as a builder in Manchester, his hands and back are broken from laying bricks in pouring rain. Every week he paid his National Insurance. Never claimed benefits. Never broke the law. He raised two kids on a council estate, paid his taxes and did his bit for the country he loves. Now he shuffles to the post office in the same coat he’s worn since 2018. His old Nokia phone barely holds the charge. His State Pension is £241.30 a week, just over £12,500 a year, but after gaps, Frank gets less. He counts every penny. Some weeks it’s heating or eating. Last winter around 2,500 people in England died from cold associated causes. Frank keeps the thermostat at 15 degrees and wears jumpers indoors. "I’m not living," he tells his neighbour. "I’m just existing." His wife, Margaret, has been in a care home for two years, dementia stealing her away. Frank struggles to keep their old car on the road for weekly visits. One more breakdown and those trips could end. Every pension day is the same. Frank walks past the bookies where young fighting age men fresh off small boats shout, laugh and slap down stacks of cash twice as thick as his weekly pension. He keeps his head down, clutching his wallet, praying nobody follows him home. His street no longer feels like his street. Fewer familiar faces. Foreign languages. The corner shop is now a Turkish barbers. He feels all alone in the city he once helped build. Meet Ahmed, the man who paid nothing. Ahmed arrived on a dinghy last summer, one of 41,472 Channel crossings in 2025, mostly young men from Somalia, Eritrea, Afghanistan and Sudan. He tossed his documents into the sea, then claimed asylum the moment the dinghy touched the beach. No passport. No papers. No contributions. The Home Office puts him in a hotel. Heating on full. Three meals a day. Security on the door.Ahmed strolls the streets in new clothes and the latest iPhone, using free bus shuttles twice a day, drinking and laughing with friends outside the same bookies Frank avoids. He broke immigration rules entering the country uninvited. Once granted asylum, the door opens to UK benefits and housing. Frank paid in all his life and obeyed every rule. He built the Britain that now houses Ahmed. Ahmed has paid nothing and doesn't obey the rules, he receives shelter, warmth, food, free transport and pocket money while Frank rations food, huddles under blankets to keep warm and constantly worries about money. Tonight as Ahmed relaxes in a warm hotel room with new Nike trainers by the bed, wondering what’s for dinner. Frank sits in his cold home wondering why a lifetime of hard work brings only deprivation. This story is repeating in towns and cities across the country. This isn’t fairness. This is a betrayal. #UKNews #UKPolitics #StopTheBoats

Brits surrendered their firearms in 1997. Less than 30 years later, they're being arrested for Facebook posts. That's not "safety." That's the speed of tyranny once a government knows its citizens can't push back. When people are disarmed, the state no longer fears the people. And when governments have zero fear of the people, they do whatever the hell they want. History proves it over and over: an unarmed population is a compliant one. The right to bear arms isn't just about hunting or sport, it's the final check against a government that forgets it's supposed to serve, not rule. The Second Amendment isn't about muskets. It's about maintaining the balance of power between citizens and the state. Never give up the means to defend your liberty. Because once it's gone, the slide into authoritarianism happens faster than most people expect. May this never happen here.

Pleased to share my favorite high-resolution capture of the Artemis II launch- the moment the SLS is clearing the tower, captured by a sound-triggered camera placed near the pad. I'll have prints linked in my bio for this one, and here's a short thread about how it was captured

Kier Starmer will be pilloried by the UK Right Wing media regardless of what he does regarding Brexit, so why not simply do what the British people want and openly begin the process of EU rejoin with the The EU four pillars included in the deal. Get Brexit in the bin and move on

Javier Milei Quotes (Fan)
Javier Milei: “I thought being on the left was a mental problem. The empirical evidence is so overwhelming that it never worked anywhere, and they refused to accept it.” “But what I discovered is that being on the left is a disease of the soul. The left is built on envy, hatred, resentment, and unequal treatment under the law. They are very violent, and since they have no way or arguments to answer, they go for physical violence.”

You don't need a PhD to understand why people are poor. Poverty goes away when prosperity shows up. And prosperity doesn't fall from the sky or get delivered by a UN truck.  It gets built by entrepreneurs who start businesses, hire people, and create things worth buying.  But those entrepreneurs need somewhere they can actually operate without spending half their life begging for permits and paying fees to people who produce nothing. Countries that get this right get rich. Countries that don't, stay poor.  The whole thing fits on a napkin and yet we've got entire university departments overcomplicating it.

A super easy place to start with pension reform. If you get a public sector pension above £20,000 per annum you lose your state pension. This is easy for the Gov to track and should be phased in gradually so it's £20k for 2040.

People who think CO2 is the enemy have several false beliefs about Earth's climate. They believe correlation. They keep talking about how much CO2 has risen and how much temperatures have risen. They do not talk about causation. CO2 goes up and down between 200 ppm and 10,000 PPM, and for most of history has probably averaged in the 1,000-2,000 PPM range. We are technically in a CO2 famine now. CO2 has a huge influence on global temperatures up to about 100 PPM, which Earth has always had. After that, almost none. There isn't a single peer-reviewed paper showing any increase in global temperature attributable to CO2 from humans. Not one. There is no such thing as a global temperature. Earth doesn't have a temperature any more than your house does. Cities have seen higher low temperatures but not increasing high temperatures. Remote thermometers show almost no change since the late 1800s. Thermometer data is manipulated dramatically for political purposes. Temperatures were far colder in the 1600-1700s - the Little Ice Age. A drop in CO2 did not cause that. We are coming out of the LIA as a result of various solar cycles and a change in albedo, which add more/less energy into the oceans (something no greenhouse gas can do), and the oceans drive our climate. The AMO is a 65-year cycle. Overall, temperatures are still trending up (that's good), while various factors will determine the outcomes in different places over different time scales. Two days ago, Israel passed a law that allows for convicted terrorists to be sentenced to death—they received international condemnation. Since the start of this year, the Islamic Republic has executed 637 innocent Iranians—there has not been a word of condemnation. Weird.

@IainDale I'm still waiting to see how the mass importation of Somlians, Eritreans Pakistanis and Afghans are going to help solve this problem. I'm guessing there's a plan?

Just so we are clear, here are what the scientific facts are. • Men cannot get pregnant. • Transgenderism is a mental disorder. • “Chemtrails” are not real. • The Earth is NOT flat. It’s approximately a sphere—an oblate spheroid. • Climate change is real, but it is not an existential crisis. • Nuclear power is the most reliable and sustainable form of energy.

Stop funding the entire 3rd world to come and live here then. Do you really think importing Pakistanis Afghans Somalis and Eritreans are going to solve the pensions crisis? If you do, please explain to me how that works because I'm at a loss. Then there's the billions on net zero. Which have axhieved nothing. Then the billions spent on a Ukraine never ending war. Reform of the pension system is needed to some extent but every illegal alien costs way more to the state per year than 1 pensioner. Start with the people who have never contributed and will never contribute. They are not needed

By 2027, there will be 3million pensioners who pay higher or additional rate tax. These people, by definition, are in the top 20% of all UK earners. Yet they will still receive a £12K a year state pension, in a direct transfer of cash from the poorer young to the wealthier old.

‘You won’t let me talk!’ Journalist Carole Malone and @miriam_cates have an explosive debate over whether the triple lock for state pensions should be maintained.

If I'm honest. The blob will not let a Reform government make the changes needed. Nigel has to be open and honest about everything he want to reform before the election. Eg. A vote for reform signifies that We can leave the echr on day 1 without parliamentary approval We can remigrate asylum seekers who have broken the law without parliamentary approval We can call for all snivel servants to return to A 5 day working week in the work place without parliamentary approval We can refund the size of the state by 20% without parliamentary approval I can't see how else he can make the reforms needed given the retarded left run the institutions. ( Retarded left is very different to the sane left).

Competent people are naturally attracted to Capitalism because they know they can be rewarded for providing value to others. The incompetent are attracted to systems that reward people regardless of competency and effort, as is the case with socialism and communism.

Around the Moon and Back in Ten Days There is a rocket on Launch Pad 39B in Florida. 98 meters tall. 2.6 million kilograms. It leaves the ground April 1st with four people aboard. They will fly around the Moon and be home in ten days. No human has done anything like it since December 1972. Victor Glover will be the first person of color beyond low Earth orbit. Christina Koch the first woman. Jeremy Hansen the first non-American to reach the Moon’s vicinity. Commander Reid Wiseman, a single father, told his daughters: four people on Earth get to fly around the Moon right now. He could not say no. On April 6 they circle the Moon at 6,000 miles. It will look like a basketball held at arm’s length. On the way home they hit 25,000 miles per hour. Farthest. Fastest. Ever. They will not land. That comes later. Apollo 8 first, then Apollo 11. Same logic. Prove the capsule. Trust the capsule. Then trust your life to it on the surface. Four people. Ten days. No landing. The most important test flight since Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier. It leaves the pad Wednesday. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1
