This is a public service announcement. 🧵 Today is (US) National Voter Registration Day. Remember, you need to be registered before you can vote in an election. Many states will allow you to register to vote by mail or online. And some states deadlines are coming up soon. 1/

I can't stress how important this is in our nation right now. Our democracy only works if you actively participate, and understand the hows and whys. I'm doing my part... Are you? Would you like to know more? 6/6

In many states and localities, it's fairly easy to sign up as an election judge so you can oversee the process, and serve your local community. Every state, county, and municipality is different. Check with your local voting office on how to participate. 5/

So, y'all remember the Netbook craze from about 10 years ago -- ultra-small laptops, relatively lightly powered, but nice little knock-around machines? They're back. I just picked up a couple machines, about as powerful as a RasPi, for $60 a piece. This should be fun.

The price of gas is up by almost $2 a gallon since Putin accelerated his military build-up, and those high prices pose a challenge for working families. Today, I'm calling on Congress to suspend the federal gas tax for three months to provide Americans some much-needed relief.
