For spring break my 16 year old is camping in the mountains with his friends. Some of the family are acting like I basically fed him to a bear. Fellow parents, would you let your generally very responsible and capable kid camp without adults?

The Mavericks have lost a lot, but they have played the most clutch games in the NBA this season. It’s disingenuous to portray them as a team that’s constantly getting blown out and only cares about Cooper Flagg’s stats. As far as defensive coverages, Flagg is drawing matchups like Dyson Daniels and Scottie Barnes on a nightly basis. Knueppel is top-locked obviously too, so that’s not to diminish that. Flagg also draws aggressive defensive coverages on a Mavs team that shoots by far the worst on open 3s and began the season with even worse spacing by playing double bigs and having little playmaking in the backcourt. I am very confident that Kon Knueppel’s efficiency would likely be lower than in Charlotte early in his career had he landed in Dallas under the circumstances that played out this year. Flagg’s efficiency would likely improve in Charlotte complementing LaMelo Ball (deserving of All-NBA) and with how they like to play fast. In the half-court, Flagg would be in more play finishing sequences with better talent around him to hunt mismatches and execute basic NBA actions more effectively than the Mavs. Regardless, padding PRA stats and efficiency isn’t more important than development. The Mavs are putting more on Flagg’s plate now with the mindset that it should lead to more growth later. He got injured in February and needed a few games to build his rhythm in March. However, the advanced stat analysis does need context when comparing a player on a team that already added building blocks in previous draft cycles versus a player who landed in a dysfunctional situation needing to lose to add talent. Anyone drafted in the 2025 class to Dallas would have had rough metrics. That’s just the reality. I think Kon is a great player and has brought a lot of value to Charlotte. Flagg is also a great player who will benefit from his team hopefully adding more shooting, and having a next season with Kyrie Irving and Dereck Lively II.
Chris Baker@ChrisBakerNBA

Everybody keeps talking about the “context” with Flagg and Kon as if Flagg being the #1 option means anything. The proper context is that Flagg produces most of his statistics in game environments where his opponent is either blowing the Mavs out or comfortably leading. Additionally, Flagg is not face guarded whenever he crosses half court. Kon is being guarded like prime steph curry as a rookie and being guarded like that across every possession of the game

I feel like I am taking crazy pills with the Russini and Vrabel thing. It's a picture of them greeting one another and then they're sitting next to one another at a pool. If they were having an affair, do you think they would be so would be so dumb to do it in public?

Casuals will look at this and watch the game and think Kon had a bad game. His DARKO DPM and VORP were off the charts tonight. Don’t let the box score and eye test fool you

I don’t care how cute it might look to the parents recording it, this is absolutely not worth the risk, even if there was only a one percent chance of the dog biting. There’s also a rake lying on the ground. Am I wrong? 😤

@NFCNorthNewss If we really want to save the wear and tear on the body what if we start w the ‘penalty shootout’ instead of having the game? Think how long the players careers could be extended if they never had to play?!

🚨🚨BREAKING: The #Packers have submitted a request that would have games tied at the end of regulation go to a Field goal “Penalty Shootout” instead of having overtime. Green Bay claims that getting rid of overtime would spare athletes bodies from over exhaustion and could extend the careers of all athletes in the league. Instead of going to overtime, Each team’s kicker would have to kick from the 50-Yard line, kicking intermittently until one of the kickers miss. The proposal has some supporter from other league managers, but is not expected to pass. 😬

This is one of the worst displays of biased journalism I’ve ever encountered. There was zero education given to this man and he was wagering somebody else’s money with no consequence of loss. There was no talk in his article about the extent of his research, money management techniques or seeking out information about what to avoid. His solution after losing half his company’s money was to go all in on a Super Bowl bet that lost. This guy never once talks about his process, metrics, factors he considers important when handicapping any sport, and now draws prediction markets into it by cautioning betting on the Oscars or the weather. There was no personal governor put on his unit size, leagues he would bet on or avoid, or how much time he would spend gambling each day/week. An attempt to correlate gambling with some subtle changes in health was made. There was no talk about how many Big Mac sandwiches he ate during this six months, now many workouts he went to or missed, or how much he worked at his job, all of which have a significant effect on one’s health. Frankly I’m embarrassed that someone will review this journalistic material and automatically assume gambling and those associated with it are bad/stupid/immature or something else negative. There are more addictive or dangerous substances sold to you at the gas station, fast food restaurants or provided by doctors but yet gambling takes it in the shorts via the media. I ain’t buying this one. This experiment was so badly flubbed up. This is not a personal attack on the writer who went through this experiment. His company set him up to fail and now people will be mislead everywhere he speaks on the subject.

I want to bet CBS won't balance out this story with someone who makes money gambling. Promoting responsible gaming with people who do research, know the game and how to gamble correctly isn't part of the fear mongering agenda. One of the most lopsided sports stories in a while.

I feel a deep sadness. So many of us worked very hard to get Trump back in office. We believed he would put America First and no new wars would be started. What we have seen this term is the opposite of what we voted for, understand it is not MAGA that has changed, it is Trump. Trump was a vessel to achieve the goal, he has failed the mission and it is time he leave the office.
