@SelenaTorresNV @JoeLombardoNV Children are not going hungry at school. Free breakfast and free lunch. The middle class/wealthy suburbs Summerlin and Anthem don’t want free lunch but if they need it, parents apply, qualify, and kids eat.

.@JoeLombardoNV you’re right, politics has no place in school cafeterias. I know that first hand because I’ve worked lunch duty. No school should deny a student lunch because they don’t have the resources to pay. It’s time we have consistent funding for school lunches.

@VictorJoecks @ClarkCountySch @JosephMLombardo Only public schools require licensed personnel. If the district was a private school it would be fully staffed - even if unqualified.

On the first day of school, @ClarkCountySch has 1,139 openings for teachers and other licensed personnel. Several schools have 12 or more vacancies. A major setback for students who will go through the year without a consistent teacher. @JosephMLombardo, #nvleg and the public need to realize that money won't fix this problem. In fact, it can make it worse. The district needs policy changes to retain more teachers. 1. Punish rulebreakers to restore safety and respect in schools. 2. Get rid of dumbed-down grading standards. 3. Enforce the new cell phone policy strictly.
