@Butch30586594 No - but it helps illustrate how ridiculous the tweet I quote tweeted is.
English

@metathomist So Catholics are the only Christians? Seriously? You believe this?
English

Leave Protestantism
Become Christian

Leave Romanism Become Catholic

@OC_Scanner am I crazy or did I hear some thunder like booms. Like 4ish of them north of Irvine. About 10 seconds in between each boom
Definitely didn’t sound like Disneyland

@WilliamTheSama1 @Therese56143133 You don't get to invent the worst case scenarios to suit yourself.
English

@metathomist @Therese56143133 You don't get to invent the best scenarios to suit yourself. Your guy there, Leo, just recently promoted a woman theologian who openly promotes Pacha-Gaia worship as a 'decolonizing blah blah blah modality' or some such garbage.
You live under a trad pope of your own invention.
English

Pope Leo never worshipped pagan idols.
Lying is a sin.
Frank Wright@frankwrighter
Pope Leo worshipped pagan idols. Told you that joke isn’t funny anymore.
English

@ZenMaster333 oh know i have a photo of someone in my bio ... it must mean i worship them and think they're God.

English

@metathomist Could have fooled me, you have his photo in your bio instead of Jesus's photo. Weird.
English

Is it not idolatry to worship the Pope as divine?

pachamama day and the celebrations/rites associated with it are well known in peru/etc.
The celebration itself was likely a Christianized version (however cringe it may be) where the ritual/rite is performed with Christian prayers of gratitude directed at God.
As cringe as such a ceremony might be in that cultural context...it would've not been celebrated in a pagan way .
English

@Therese56143133 @metathomist What is the context, even if he is sitting?
He just happens to be watching pagan goddess worship? It is no way related to the Eco Theology conference? And his dedication to radical ecumenism and universal human fraternity?
English

its an agricultural rite that involves gratitude and respect for the earth against the backdrop of looking at our relationship with nature through the lens of St. Augustine (what the meetings were about).
They are likely kissing the ground and the "rite" could've have very well simply been accompanied with prayer of gratitude with gestures that showed that in a Christianized context.
The rituals today are still celebrated culturally but in many places are heavily Christianized and sanitized from the pagan deity elements. except, from what ive seen, among the more rural "shaman" types and what not.
It's like day of the dead in Mexico which aligns with All Souls etc. They still celebrate it but within a Catholic context.
The rite itself is about gratitude, except in the christianized version this gratitude is directed towards God etc.
English

@poperespecter1 Neither was paganism. There's a Christianized understanding of pachamama that may well have been part of something Leo participated in.
The hysteria is stupid either way.
English

Funny thing is that Francis got raked over the coals for attending a ceremony that DIDN'T have pachamama, but people are yawning about Leo participating in something that apparently DID have something to do with pachamama. People are weird like that.

BREAKING: New photos REVEAL Pope Leo participated in a Pachamama ritual in 1995. lifesitenews.com/blogs/unearthe…
English

You forgot the gigachad meme for @metathomist @poperespecter1 and @papalsupremacy they're the real ones.
Chris Jackson@BigModernism
You guys notice a pattern among the gaslighting popesplaining anon accounts who magically appear to do damage control after a scandal, telling you not to believe your lying eyes? Shady as hell.
English

@PKarl330 And if that were true what then? We have two people who don't know what he did or not yet one chooses to assume the absolute worst.
English

@metathomist You literally dont know whether he did or not. Lying is a sin.
English

@ofsaintthomas The blindness is happening on your part I think - you see what you want to see without regard for a person who is well known and who has a long history of being orthodox when it comes to doctrine.
English

@metathomist I'm sorry for you, you are truly blinded to see the truth even if it's in front of your own eyes. God bless.
Psalms 68:24 "Let their eyes be darkened, so that they may not see, and may their back always be crooked."
English

@WilliamTheSama1 Oh, I don't know - perhaps a long recorded history and track record of fidelity to the truth and doctrine by the same man you guys so quickly assume willingly participated in worshiping a pagan god.
English

@metathomist What is willful blindness?
Oh, lying.
Sure its some tacky New Age Ecotheological 'service', but the man is on his knees participating.
On what basis do you make these absolute statements that contradict visible evidence?
Indefectibility? Are popes indefectible their entire life?
English

@B3901293 Protestants also think kneeling before anything = worship
English

@metathomist What was he doing then? Kneeling in protest of idolatry?
English

@Sapientia400 Disprove what exactly. A claim they made up by interpreting the photo in question in the worst light possible?
English

@metathomist You'll have to account for them when you're brought before Him.
English

@Regenluke Oh did you disagree with something in the screenshot you posted
English

@RobertWeidner11 His predecessor also did not worship a pagan idol.
English

@metathomist This really doesn’t look good for him.
Especially in light of his predecessor’s actions.
