It was Sunday and we're headed off somewhere. My wife points to a bucket rolling loose on the property. "Doesn't that bother you?" "Sure, a bit." "So why not pick it up?" "Because it's Sunday, and there's always some bucket."

@poiThePoi @Romy_Holland They're thinking about it all wrong. The more comfortable the seating the longer I sit and the more my wife spends. It's great arrangement and they should give me a lavish chair.

@Romy_Holland @mfacehero Is the point that you are forced to parade the clothes in front of your husband and see his reaction or lack thereof?

whose idea was it to put no mirrors in the individual changing rooms at aritzia and instead make you walk into a large communal space to see how clothes look? today i left without even trying on my final 2 items bc i just wasn’t in the mood for the back and forth. obviously bad business design? ideally there is no friction between the shopper and the decision to purchase.

The next time I was in there and saw another husband doing the same I pointed it out to my wife. I felt vindicated.

Every upscale clothing store should provide seating. The more comfortable I am the longer I sit and the more my wife spends. I was once accosted by an Anthropologie employee for sitting on the edge of a solid wood display table out of desperation. Don't be like this.

@Romy_Holland My husband review of Aritzia is they have really comfortable seating. This is more than I can say for Anthropologie which seems ideologically opposed to chairs.

I generally think Hasan is just a terrible person and that comes out in him just being nasty to anyone around him. There is a reason this guy doesn't have any real friends. He calls other people losers but the only time anyone wants to spend time with him is when they have something to gain from him. He doesn't have 1 real friend.

We would take LSD and walk to our neighborhood park. This was a planned community with a homeowners association run by hardliners. It was immaculate. Get down on your knees in front of that lawn. You can measure the uniformity of the blades of grass to the millimeter. Bright lights on topiaries. And the silence. An entire community and no sign of life. We walk to the park and stumble down the back trails kicking rocks and howling at the moon. Spence would warn us to quiet down: "They'll think we're homeless back here shouting at the rich". But we were only shouting at ourselves.

@JoshuaSteinman Growing up I watched Wes Anderson's characters and wished I could have been from a rich, dysfunctional family. At the time the irony was lost on me that I was already in one. Of course it wasn't as fun as in the films which is probably what blinded me to it.

@mfacehero “The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sage thicket. “Vámonos, amigos,” he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintcraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.” -E.C.

Jane Kim, a progressive SF former supervisor who helped create the status quo of no prison for trafficking or deadly assault, knows that there are no stakes for being arrested for merely blocking traffic. She’s trying to cosplay a martyr but it’s just performative.

Today, on May Day, I was arrested at a labor action alongside @seiuusww workers standing up for a living wage. While airlines rake in record profits, airport workers are being paid poverty wages. Their fight is our fight. I’m proud to stand with them. Photos by Brooke Anderson

@sporadica I distinctly recall pouring a bottle of champagne over my head that night at midnight. I knew it would be crazy enough to remember forever and it worked.

@selentelechia I pressed the red button because it made sense and then someone pointed out my young kids would probably press blue for fun and then I felt bad.

look the reason I didn't weigh in on button discourse is that if I were presented with the dilemma without having seen it before, I would press red and then go "wait, shit--"

The company man offered us indoor plumbing or an outdoor toaster after pappy lost his leg. We chose wisely. Every morning you can smell the bread crisping up on the walk back from the outhouse.

Red and blue button pushers: who's smarter? In a mostly-subscriber sample who took a brief verbal IQ test, the answer is... Blue pushers! If the whole population has an IQ of 100 with an SD of 15, their mean IQ would be 101.9, versus 97.0 for reds.
