Many are justifying the Kyle Tucker signing, by saying that any owner could spend like the Dodgers but “they just don’t want to win enough”. This is the most idiotic take I’ve ever seen. It shows you know nothing about the business side of the game. MLB let Dodgers keep almost all of their TV Money. They are the only team that gets to do this because of negotiations during the McCourt Bankruptcy. After the bankruptcy settlement, They negotiated the largest local TV deal in all of MLB but the settlement amount subject to revenue share was based on the OLD contract. They do not have to share most of their TV money and this is what allows the insane spending. Again, they are 1 of 30 teams to get this carveout from the league and the only team who could even attempt to spend like this. Stop saying other owners are cheap. None of them have a special exemption on revenue sharing for their TV contracts like the Dodgers do. MLB Created this situation.

Rest 1 minute between sets = subsequent set is 30% as effective as it could be Rest 1.5 minutes between sets = subsequent set is 60% as effective as it could be Rest 2 minutes between sets = subsequent set is 80% as effective as it could be Rest 3 minutes between sets = subsequent set is 90% as effective as it could be Rest 4 minutes between sets = subsequent set is 95% as effective as it could be Rest 5+ minutes between sets = subsequent set is 95+% as effective as it could be This is based on what I’ve seen with clients/experienced myself over the last 15 years It also lines up pretty neatly with the research Focus less on the specifics and more on the concept More rest = more effectiveness on subsequent sets but there are diminishing returns If you’re not pressed for time, you don’t mind spending it at the gym, and you want the best gains possible…obviously the longer rests are preferred If pressed for time, you may have to opt for shorter rests and accept that the effectiveness of each set will be reduced!

Rest periods between sets: 30-60 seconds: You're still tired from the last set, can't generate maximum force, each set is progressively worse, half your sets don't count. 3-5 minutes: Fully recovered, maximum force production every set, all reps are growth reps, clear progression. "But the short rest keeps the pump!" Yes. And the long rest keeps the tension. Which is the thing that builds muscle. Choose your religion carefully.
