Today we’re introducing Merlin. A new constellation designed to remap the entire planet every day at one-meter resolution. For decades, Earth observation has been constrained by a fundamental trade-off: global coverage or high resolution. Merlin removes that constraint. For the first time, it becomes possible to combine daily global coverage with the level of detail needed to understand human activity. This shifts Earth observation from tasking satellites to continuously monitoring the world. Satellite imagery shows rapid expansion at Antelope Reef in the Paracel Islands. What was recently a submerged coral formation is now being reshaped by dredging. Over the past two months, a channel has been cut into the lagoon and new land is beginning to appear as material is deposited on the reef. Successive images reveal the speed and scale of the transformation as construction progresses. After 5 amazing years, I'm moving on from @Satellogic. The Earth observation industry has transformed dramaticallyl from rare, expensive imagery to frequent, affordable, high-resolution data that now powers persistent monitoring for climate, security, defense, and global decisions. Immensely proud of the breakthroughs our team delivered together in making geospatial insights truly accessible and actionable. Satellogic is in a tremendous position for continued growth and there will be no bigger fan than I, rooting the company on from the sidelines. Falcon 9 rideshare pricing is up 40% over the last five years. And there are still no real alternatives to F9. Access to orbit for satellite operators is getting more expensive, not cheaper. And the promise of a world of lower launch prices, unfortunately, remains a ways away.
