@korytellers I loved my admin. Left to move to another part of the state. Ended up coming back up here and returned to my former school!

This has me wondering, how many of you out there have left a school where you felt you had amazing admins? What was the reason for you then? I’d like to get an idea of how many teachers there are out there with that type of story. Honestly I’m wondering if there are any out there

I’m so sick of seeing the “teachers quit cause of bad admin” posts. No. Teachers ALSO quit because… - wage isn’t livable - no support from school board - parents who work against them - unrealistic expectations - unlivable work hours And MANY other things. Can we stop acting like everything is the admin fault? Yes, there are TERRIBLE admin out there. But there are so many areas we can work on instead of always placing the blame in one place. #RantOver

What kind of resources would be helpful for special education teachers to share with gen ed? I want to make a “tool kit” to help my teachers next year. I’m thinking like an accommodations tracker, a list of behavior interventions, etc.

I have a bulletin board with financial vocab. At the beginning of the year, it said “Money doesn’t grow on trees”. The students were adamant that money is paper and paper is made from trees so I was wrong. So long story short, I need something new for my board next year. 🤦♀️

As a resource teacher, teaching my kids to manage their future is incredibly important. I use the @EVERFIK12 FutureSmart as part of our financial curriculum. I love the simulations and the fact that they are learning through helping the characters!

@EDUwithEmily I tell my students all the time to not “be the reason my eye starts twitching” today. To the point that the other day, a kid said “you’re going to make Ms. Dubuque’s eye twitch if you don’t stop it.” 😂😂

When kids show up late for school, they still showed up. Thank them, not scold them.
“I’m happy you’re here" goes a very long way.

15 kindergartners compared to 36 middle schoolers is a HUGE difference. 🤷♀️

@adamcarolla I am a teacher. I fought for our kids to go back to school. I was pretty much alone. Teachers did NOT want to come back. Meanwhile, people at WalMart worked the whole pandemic. People at fast food restaurants worked too. Schools should have been deemed essential as well.

@sage_stage I usually hit my 30 minutes of exercise before 10am. I don’t go to the gym. That’s literally me just going up and down the stairs. (My co-teaching room and resource room are on different floors.) 😂

Our admin sent out a email saying one of the things they noticed in their last round of walk through observations was a lot of teachers sitting at their desks. Meanwhile my fitbit friends are mad at me because they think I'm cheating in our weekly competitions.
