You've probably heard that our FY2024 budget provides funding for every 4th grader in Michigan to get a free field trip to a state park. Some will be lucky enough to visit Tahquamenon Falls State Park -- a Northern Michigan gem.

When I first ran for governor, someone said to me: “Just promise me you’ll show up as you are. Don’t dim yourself because of what other people think and feel, be who *you* are.” I’ve carried that message with me through all the ups and downs.

A few weeks ago, the legislature passed the largest school aid budget in Michigan's history. And today, with the creation of MiLEAP, it's clear: Providing quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for Michiganders is a MUST, not a maybe.

Our budget makes Michigan one of the lowest-cost states to become a teacher by providing: 🍎 tuition-free training 🍏 student loan repayment 🍎 stipends while student teaching Our teachers go above and beyond for our students, so we must to go above and beyond for them.
