Carson Beck can be a decent backup with a possibility of being a serviceable starter 🟢 Size (6'4'' 233lbs) 🟢 Willing to take a hit, stands tall in pocket 🟢 Won a lot of games in college (37) 🟢 Enough mobility/speed to escape pressure/carry out read option ⚫️ Average arm talent 🔴 Passes lack velocity (got some hang time with his passes) 🔴 More tipped throws than I would like to see 🔴 Mistakes in crucial moments All in all, there isn't really anything special about his game. I do think the Cards got themselves a smart QB that can be a good game-manager. His mistakes are correctable. He's a low-ceiling QB based off arm talent alone. #AZCardinals have the weapons to help him thrive

@chuckh3 If they only had Simpson and Beck graded as potential starters, why mess around after you already missed out on your first guy?

Looking at some of the names and positions from Round 3, and I believe an argument can be made the Cardinals errored by taking Beck so soon. Not his selection, but where he was selected. On the surface, Ossenfort could have traded back a bit, or taken their 4th and moved up to secure a top-100 OL, EDGE, or WR. Idk if they had any substantive talks, but I get the criticism of using the 65th overall pick on a QB who may only be a career backup.

@AZ_ArmchairGM Half the GMs in the league would get fired every year if their job depended on the success of the previous year’s 3rd round pick.

Will the success (or lack thereof) of Beck get Monti an extension/fired?? Like, can't think Love's success = Monti stays. I'd think that if Beck fails, Monti has to go. But will Bidwill look at the entire class as a whole? Or Beck at 65, which was rich for me.

If there’s a better option than Tanking or a 38 year old Kirk Cousins I’d love to know what it was tho😆 The only way to improve on Kyler at QB wasn’t taking Simpson at 3 but a 2027 QB and it ain’t close ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m not gonna pretend I was a Beck fan this whole time but this overwhelming narrative he has a low ceiling I don’t really understand He wouldn’t have once been viewed as a future Top5 pick if he had subpar tools Whether he reaches that ceiling is tbd but I don’t see a low one.

@HaydenWinks Beck didn’t get cleared to play after his elbow surgery until just before the start of the season. Hopefully he’ll get that strength back the further away he gets from the surgery.

@JaguarGator9NFL Cardinals O line was ranked 16th last year when their top 3 RBs were lost for the season and were a top 10 rushing team the two seasons before last. Love is going to be fine.

Arizona, with their first 3 picks, took a running back behind the worst offensive line in the NFC, then drafted a noodle arm QB after signing Minshew Joke of a franchise

@blakemurphy7 Could use a safety. They’ve got lots of young corners who should be better this year, Ojulari in his first healthy offseason, Burch in year two and hopefully they don’t quit midseason like they did under JG.

Arizona's got needs at LB, Edge, DL, CB/S and the picks have been: -Offense -Offense -Offense -Defensive Line -Offense New coach making an impact. Nick Rallis...god speed.

@2HighCoverage So who were they supposed to spend the money on? The best premium position players available was a Tackle/Guard who needs back surgery. An ILB? Safety? No one wants to trade in this draft. Just a bad year to have pick 3.

It’s really quite simple. By drafting Love top 3 you turn what was supposed to be a 5 year value deal into an immediate fat contract for the shortest shelf-life and injury-prone position in the league. Additionally, this team is going to waste years of that aforementioned shelf life looking for a QB and fixing the OL. Every decision maker in Arizona responsible for this disaster (and not learning from Oakland’s Jeanty selection last year) should be fired. Oh, and I thought Love and Jeanty were the best players relative to their position in their respective draft classes.

The Cardinals have made 3 picks and all of them have been offense Let’s not forget that they allowed 28.7 points per game last year (4th Most) I’m genuinely concerned for this defense😬

@theo_mackie When you step away from the tanking narrative, the pick makes perfect sense. The league is full of mid QBs that win more than they lose.
