Car manufacturer A produced 1 car this year and 10 cars the next year, it would have 1000% growth And company B produced 20 mil cars this year and 30 mil next year, it would have a 50% growth. If you don't understand now why growth expressed in % for low numbers is useless, I can't help you my friend

@pete_raf @thejefflutz That's what car manufacturers do though. They count EV sales growth for example as a % increase whether is hundreds of EV's or hundreds of thousands. No one seems to mind percentages then.

@JDotare @thejefflutz That is a true statement. Still, % growth is not a good a good metric when we talk about low absolute numbers.

@pete_raf @thejefflutz But if 40-50% increase can be sustained, it will increase very fast. That's the point of a ramp.

@munster_gene @wholemars Waymo has ~3000 cars. Tesla can produce it in a few days. The only hurdle is a regulatory.

$GOOG Waymo, now over 500k rides a week, more than doubling year over year. Growth has been consistently doubling off of higher numbers. I estimate $TSLA Robotaxi around 50k rides per week, and still in a great position to catch Waymo over the next few years. The crazy part is that self driving ride sharing is still only 1.5% of total ride sharing miles.

@YinYangTurbo @alojoh I think it is natural for a founder and a visionary to try to have as much influence in the direction where the company is going. And the way to have bigger influence is to have a bigger voting power.

@pete_raf @alojoh I'm not sure I understand then. Is this a discussion about morality?

@teslayoda "Hi, Tesla here. The stock has only been flat for last 5 years. It's within the spec, even though S&P500 is up 70% in the same period"

@YinYangTurbo @alojoh Everything you said are valid points. But this has little to do with Musk wanting as much voting power in his companies as he could get. This was the original debate

The issue is that his success in increasing perceived value of the stock price has significantly exceeded his success in making the company more valuable than competitors. The company trades at a very high multiple to current earnings compared to other companies that also produce good EV's, FSD, and humanoid robots. To add some more context: Tesla is still is a great company with a great product. But not so great to justify its earnings multiple, especially since there are viable competitors producing: * Much better batteries * Slightly inferior FSD * Comparable EVs * Comparable or perhaps better humanoids

Great. And you, by selling your shares, are exercising your rights based on your opinions, hence providing signal to the market. We are all in some kind of bubble or another. Analysts who think TSLA is a $20 dollar stock would say that you are in a bubble thinking is a $50 dollar stock.

@tesla FSD saves little bunny’s life. I did not see it running across the street, but the computer did. Tesla FSD is the real deal. Many animal and human lives will be saved, and we won’t even know it.
