You are a homemaker in 2026. There should always be a machine on. Always. Unless you are purposely quieting down the home for peace and serenity. Listen around. Is your dishwasher on? Is your washing machine on? Is your dryer on? Is your Instant Pot on? Is your Roomba on? If you hear nothing and it's not for purposeful silence, get them going. If you do that, you can stay on top of keeping a home with much more ease than women of times past.

Some IVF doctors seem to have figured out some secrets to making embryo transfer significantly more successful. I spoke with one this week who said she often does dozens of transfers without losing a single one, which is markedly higher than 70% you get at a high end clinic. This same doctor recently saw a friend of mine and managed to get her 3x as many eggs as she got from her last round. It's kind of remarkable how big of a difference there is between IVF docs.

@ingowoo @Prigoose You will always be thinking of more things. Peds apts, daycare, food, formula or feeding times. You cant just work all night anymore or deep focus from 4-8pm becuase the kid(s) need you AND you want to be with them. Get as far as you can before you have kids.

tbh since i became a mother i feel like my education has massively slowed, and i’m extra resentful of receiving what in my view was sub-par education from 14-22. by far the greatest work of my life was done from 25-30, and now i don’t know whether i’ll ever have the circumstances to work as effectively
