@harryjwang Ideas only get sharper when they hit reality. Thx for being UD's person-in-the-arena; bringing us news from the frontlines of the AI world we now inhabit.

I'm preparing a talk on "beyond vibe coding" — things a vibe-coded hobby/prototype project can ignore, but a production SaaS with real users cannot. Here is one from the weekend's lesson: abuse defense. PaperFox.ai got hit with a few spam attacks — a fake conference request with a plausible name, plus an off-topic paper submitted to a real conference. I still can't figure out the spammer's payoff — no money, no audience reached. Not sure if AI was actually used here, but AI makes this kind of attack much easier to run. What we did: - A proper internal user-banning tool. - Auth checks on every request, so a banned user's existing session dies immediately. - Sign-in errors that don't leak banned vs. wrong-password — otherwise attackers can enumerate. - Cascade-delete that cleans up a fake entity without orphaning rows across half a dozen tables. - A skill routine to run a daily security check on Claude Code cloud. The good news is: our system gets better with each real incident like this — AI won't write any of this on the first pass for you, and neither will the bugs and feature requests that only surface once real customers show up — so ship early and often. #BeyondVibeCoding #BuildInPublic #SaaS #AISafety #AICoding #AIBuilders

@aiseomastery SE's need to start fueling for sustained energy, like some type of brain athlete. I can code 16 hours straight with AI with the proper diet... Jevon's paradox is real for me. Fixed Nation with Dr. Erin or Jason Fung's Hunger Code book are great places to start.

Prof. Donald Knuth opened his new paper with "Shock! Shock!" Claude Opus 4.6 had just solved an open problem he'd been working on for weeks — a graph decomposition conjecture from The Art of Computer Programming. He named the paper "Claude's Cycles." 31 explorations. ~1 hour. Knuth read the output, wrote the formal proof, and closed with: "It seems I'll have to revise my opinions about generative AI one of these days." The man who wrote the bible of computer science just said that. In a paper named after an AI. Paper: cs.stanford.edu/~knuth/papers/…

@BoringBiz_ People love to say that "smart" people fail...but a cardiologist just placed 3rd out of 13,000 at Anthropic’s hackathon. Smart + the right Initiative is insane leverage & where breakthroughs will come from...don't buy the hype. x.com/BoWang87/statu…

After leading AI & Health at @UHN — Canada’s largest hospital network — for the past few years, this is the first time it genuinely feels different. A cardiologist just placed 3rd out of 13,000 at Anthropic’s hackathon. He built it between hospital shifts. In a week. An AI agent that follows patients home — reverse scribe, full history, devices, evidence — all in one place. A few years ago this would’ve taken a full team and months. Now? One doctor. That’s the shift.

Claude Code isn’t just for writing code. Our new post shows how to use it as a lightweight agentic workflow library, going from messy ideas to working agents in a single session, without setting up a full framework first. landeranalytics.com/post/claude-co… #AIWorkflows

@aakashgupta Not sure why my brain didn't think of continuing to use Cursor as the IDE with Claude Code. Is that what people do? Thought it would be VS-Code for some reason.

Two things changed me: hearing Josh Waitzkin on The Tim Ferriss Show, and going low-carb. Best of luck, @TheGregYang. If you want a keto-friendly support crew, my wife Dr. Erin (ER physician and metabolic specialist) and I built an app (Emergency Health Fix) that connects members, coaches, and Erin’s guidance. Next cohort starts Feb 5 (paid), but Carbie AI is free. Snap a meal photo and it will flag what to watch for.

Agree. AI makes breadth >> depth for most work: strong fundamentals + good judgment lets you mimic deep expertise when you need it. I can switch languages and produce code as if I’ve studied them for years.

Marc Andreessen explains future belongs to generalist in the AI era. Founders will need skills across 6–8 fields. Deep expertise still matters, but broad knowledge plus AI tools will be more valuable in most areas. Top CEOs already operate this way.

@rohanpaul_ai Agree. AI makes breadth >> depth for most work: strong fundamentals + good judgment lets you “rent” deep expertise when you need it. I can switch languages fast now and ship like I’ve studied them for years.
