Individually, Christians must understand that they cannot do good and are not good. We all need Jesus for our salvation.

You think that sexual sin is worse than other sins that you struggle with. God doesn’t see it that way. It’s why Jesus called Peter, “Satan,” before he was arrested by the Romans. “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” -Matthew 16:23 ESV You think behavior is what makes you good. That is not the gospel. You are not setting your mind on the things of God, but the things of man. Salvation allows you to do good, because it’s the Holy Spirit that allows you to do it. What you think are good deeds are like menstrual rags to God. “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment [or ‘filthy rags’ in many translations]. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.” -Isaiah 64:6 You think you are better and good. You are wicked, and worse off. “Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.” -Proverbs 26:12 ESV

@theocraticking1 Correct, now you get it, right? You should advise men to only marry virgins. And you should advise women to avoid men who can’t provide and protect his wife. Even if Jesus forgives him or her.

So, a guy shouldn’t marry a woman, who is now redeemed, that has a promiscuous past? Well, a woman shouldn’t marry a guy, who is now redeemed, whose past is porn or alcoholism or gambling addiction…etc. Those sins come with baggage. If these people were being consistent.

@megbasham Your suspicion is wrong. The problem is you think your redemption story is about you. But these could very well be sermons about female sinful nature, as a warning for men (and women). But pastors, and even you, refuse to touch the subject from that perspective.

I have a strong suspicion the majority of these men are 25 and under. And that tells me a few things. Nearly 50% of GenZ men have never asked a woman out or approached one for a date in person. That means half of young men have ZERO experience of women on a romantic level. That’s going to form distorted ideas about women that can lead to anger and bitterness. And a lot of the fault for this lies at the feet of feminism that has told them that they are predators or potential rapists or creepy or what have you for wanting girlfriends and trying to get them. It has not created an atmosphere conducive to young men pursuing young women. So in a sense, I think the angry reactions are responding to something real. But the response is coming from a place of ignorance that men in the past would not have had.

He's getting destroyed in the comments but sadly everyone is wrong here. The number of Christian men seeking marriage far exceeds the number of Christian women. If you're one of those men, this is not something you can afford to make a deal breaker. If you're dating a woman over the age of 20, she probably won't be a virgin. That's just the way it is in this post-boomer hellscape.

Does anyone else get asked to sign things at the doctor's office that aren't true? This is the second time. J is getting allergy shots, and the nurse says "I need you to sign this." I read it, and it says "I confirm we are leaving the premises despite being advised against doing so." I say "but we aren't leaving. You just told me we should wait here for 20 minutes, and we are." At the pediatrician: "we need you to sign this Good Faith Estimate. " Me: "I don't see the Estimate." Receptionist: "That is the Good Faith Estimate" Me: "... there is no number. If I sign this, you can charge whatever you want and I have to pay it. That seems contradictory to the purpose of GFE" Receptionist, now annoyed because how dare I read: "do what you want but they won't treat her if you don't sign and you'll pay a cancelation fee" How is this legal?
