Steve Bisheff died today - 42 years as a sportswriter and columnist in Southern California, more than 20 years with us at the Orange County Register. Wrote a great many books, too, with John Wooden a favorite subject. Great writer; great friend and mentor, too.

As coaches we need 2 B elite if we expect kids 2 B elite. Over emotional coaches expecting under control players, unprepared coaches expecting prepared players, we want players to examine their own game but we seldom examine our own.Elite coaches look 1st to themselves.
