@fingeringblacks @PappasChandler Yes but some things are not for the person themselves to deign. And Einstein also fcked his cousin, just sayin, but I wouldn’t follow his joy there.

@rg_brewski @PappasChandler Yes you have. Einstein enjoyed his life. Anyone with enough brain cells will recognize being angry or sad all the time is suboptimal behavior and avoids it.

@Linahuaa lol this cultural analysis sucks. Plus all the men listed in the “getting laid” category except finance are all entertainers. Women who like entertainers are losers.

Girls like money because they like luxury. Guys like money as a dick measuring stick and to invest in big stuff for legacy. Thus, money has huge diminishing returns for girls once they reach a level that can maintain fine dining, luxury brands, business class flights and fancy hotels. At that point, clout, looks, good sex, fun etc are all wayyyy more important than money. And that's why athletes, rock stars, finance guys, and actors all have WAYYYYY higher quantity and quality of girlfriends compared to post-exit AI startup guys.

Wrong, but the truth is actually quite interesting Higher IQ people can accurately peg the intelligence of lower IQ people And most lower IQ people can sense when they're dealing with someone smarter. But the lower IQ person usually has no idea how much smarter the higher IQ person is They are unable to discern whether they're dealing with a 10 point or a 40 point difference This leads the lower IQ person to do things like misperceive verbose or studious people as hyperintelligent, confusing knowledge/memory and even pretentious tryharding for intelligence When in reality, these "hyperintelligent" people may be just a few hairs above them in real fluid intelligence Likewise, they wouldn't be able to identify a real genius from their mental output and could easily peg someone 150+ as 110-120 if asked Because fundamentally, they cannot understand what intelligence actually looks like in practice. They only have a crude mental model of it. And a lot of this model is down to the stress/friction they feel when trying to understand someone. And the most obvious friction is when someone uses big words and concepts While they are much less likely to have this high friction experience with someone truly hyperintelligent, either because they stay quiet, or because that person is smart enough to change their register depending on who they're talking to For instance, Edward Teller said of John Von Neumann (likely 180-200 IQ) "Von Neumann would carry on a conversation with my three-year-old son, and the two of them would talk as equals, and I sometimes wondered if he used the same principle when he talked to the rest of us.” What's much harder for someone higher IQ to perceive in someone lower is emotional and ethical/moral processing. Even if they can identify the baseline level of intelligence in a person, it's a struggle to understand why they act because they do not relate to this experience For instance, someone acting out of fear, irrational anger, shortsighted greed, jealousy, shame and other impulsive emotions. The higher IQ person tries to find a logic and clarity in it that doesn't exist. While the lower IQ person's reality just involved a bombardment of intense emotions they reacted to in the only way they knew There was never the capacity to zoom out or process it through a rational part of the mind. And in this regard, there's no logical clarity for the higher IQ person to reach about "why" the lower IQ person did what they did, except that they are driven by a mess of reactive emotionality that they neither see clearly, nor even care to see clearly Higher IQ people also struggle with understanding ethical/moral choices in lower IQ people. They project their own values because they feel so fundamental and unquestioned to their identity that they cannot even imagine someone not valuing it For instance, values like fairness, reciprocity, care for a shared environment, and other long term social games that are net positive for all over time. Lower IQ people instead may live in a world of getting all you can get, assuming others will screw you first, seeing it as another person's problem or stupidity, and so on An example of this at scale is mass migration to the west, where relatively intelligent Westerners cannot grok that less intelligent migrants have zero care or awareness of their values, and will end up suffering the consequences of it Higher IQ people also misread other high IQ people in the same ethical/moral axis, but the interesting thing is that it still happens even when someone is significantly more intelligent than another person or group, because it's down to their own projection rather than active deception
jayweidner37@jayweidner37

High IQ people don't understand low IQ people. They assume everyone is as smart as they are. It is nearly impossible for a high IQ person to understand a low IQ person. Its a real problem.

Pete Davidson felt bad for the Hawk Tuah girl after her memecoin controversy blew up. Pete said it was sad watching the internet turn on someone who became famous overnight. “She was this sweet girl that everybody liked. She seemed normal, cared about pets, and people thought she was cool.” According to Pete, people expected way too much from someone who suddenly went viral. When the memecoin launch went sideways, the backlash was immediate. “She doesn’t know how to run crypto.”

The Truman Show is one of my favorite films because it’s a rare encapsulation of the uniquely modern male experience of being treated like a freak for realizing the world around you is hollow and synthetic and exploits you. We must chase danger and despair, not shy away from it

So my neighbor who had his house raided the other day was arrested for CSAM (child sexual abuse material). You could knock me over with a feather. This is a guy that was a friend to everyone. The whole block *loved* him. He was the kindest neighbor we’ve ever had. I would never imagine he could be capable of this. This is your reminder to not trust anyone. I’m grateful I’m so careful when I tend my grandkids. I sit down & supervise them even when they’re right in our own front yard. I’m so glad I do because I don’t have to wonder if they were harmed.
