@AnarchoXP @FireFromHeaven7 Your statement is correct, except that is not the full context or meaning of Romans 11.
English

@ricksbell @FireFromHeaven7 In full context, it consist of Jew and Gentile, male and female, slave CD and free. Meaning: it isn’t your ethnicity, sex, or social status that disqualifies or qualifies you to be in the faith, to be the people of God.
One people.
One bride.
English

@AnarchoXP @FireFromHeaven7 Not a geopolitical ethnostate but a distinct people group- not gentiles. The church (the people of God) consists of Jew and Gentile. Romans 11 is clear that there is a distinction and a plan for Israel and Gentiles in relation to the church.
English

@FireFromHeaven7 Grafted into what?
A faith.
Which is “the church”.
Israel is a faith, not a geopolitical ethnostate.
Gentiles are not grafted into an ethnicity.

@JoeShakour Where is the evidence that the star of Remphan is 8-pointed?
English

“Star of David”
Maybe this will help clarify things the next time you hear someone claim that the Star of David is the "star" mentioned in Amos 5:26–27 and Acts 7:43 as Remphan.
David is spelled דָּוִד (Dalet Vav Dalet) in Hebrew.
ד (Dalet) – In ancient Hebrew (Paleo-Hebrew), Dalet was often written in a triangular form, which is the direct precursor to the Greek delta (Δ).
The Star of David is a hexagram: two interlocking, equilateral triangles (△ + ▽). If you take two Dalets (△), one upright and one inverted (▽), and overlap them, you form a six-pointed star. David’s name in Hebrew is דָּוִד (Dalet Vav Dalet). The two Dalets (the first and last letters) can be represented as the two triangles. The Vav (ו) in the middle is seen as the axis or connection between the two triangles.
The "star of Remphan" (רֵיפָן, Remphan or Rephan in Acts 7:43) was described as an eight-pointed star, which is not the same as the six-pointed Star of David.
There is no evidence that the Star of David was associated with Remphan or idol worship in biblical times.
The hexagram (six-pointed star) was a geometric shape found in the time of David and Solomon. It appeared on artifacts and was part of the decorative motifs in the First Temple, especially on priestly garments and objects.
The pomegranate was a common symbol in the Temple, and hexagonal patterns have been found on ancient artifacts, connecting the shape to Temple worship (see: Y. Shiloh, Excavations at the City of David, and A. Mazar, Archaeology of the Land of the Bible).
The oldest complete copy of the Masoretic Text, the Leningrad Codex (c. 1008 CE), contains a decorative hexagram/star on its cover, showing the symbol’s long history in Jewish tradition.
All the letters of the Hebrew alphabet can be constructed using lines from within a hexagram (Star of David).
This was chosen by 14th Century Jews and forced upon those in Nazi Germany to wear. Israel has reclaimed it to connect to the Kingdom of David.
I’ve personally seen this in Capernaeum on artifacts.

@worthitorwoke Well if you got to the 7 of 9 story arc, you got a good sampling of the show. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Peace!
English

Sorry, man. I can't get there with you.
I despised almost every main cast character except for the Doctor and 7 of 9. Kate Mulgrew's performance was so bad that she nearly makes me physically ill to watch.
That's to say nothing of the horrible writing inconsistencies of Janeway. In one episode, she's a moral absolutist who berates those around her who dare to let emotions cloud their principles, and in the next, she does exactly what she'd just proselytized against.
English

Tim Russ, who played the Vulcan Tuvok on the unwatchable Star Trek: Voyager, felt it was right, good, and moral to flippantly mock Charlie Kirk's death for the high crimes of believing in the Word, thinking that black people are just as capable as white people, and daring to say that men are men and women are women.
If you haven't already, you should let Russ know what you think of him.

Paula White and Jonathan Cain Encourage Wives to Watch Adult Content With Their Husbands At Church. This was at a church worship service on August 23rd 2015. This shocking clip was before Paula White was a spiritual adviser to Donald Trump at the White House. Paula Whites husband, rock star from the band Journey was teaching at church about sex. He was encouraging wives to find out about what turns them on. Then he made the comments suggesting they watch PORN together as a couple. Paula White did not correct her husband and a matter of fact she found it funny. Just to be very clear: Christian couples should not watch PORN together.

@IdlemanShane @JustinPetersMin @Phil_Johnson_ I doubt you will hear from him. I wrote an article years ago that answers his hit piece on Finney. ricksbell.com/2011/07/charle…

A wolf in sheep’s clothing or eyes of a man on fire for God?
Praise God that I don’t need to figure it out. God knows. But would love to debate @JustinPetersMin and @Phil_Johnson_ at the same time on my podcast. I’m back after September 14 and Justin has my email since I won’t be checking my social media feeds very often.
It’s hard to comment on his character flaws because we didn’t live back then so we really don’t know the truth.
Their cessasionist view discounts any powerful mighty move of God‘s spirit— they’ll always write it off as false. Some of their complaints against charismatic charlatans and craziness is warranted, but they often throw out the baby with the bathwater and discount powerful moves of God‘s spirit.
To me, these might be eyes of fire — a man filled with the fire of God.
They also don’t like all night prayer meetings or fasting or emotional worship, or people at the altar. They don’t realize it, but they are against the deeper work of the Spirit.
Well over a decade ago, I prayed, “Lord, bring revival to thechurches,” but I was not ready for theresponse that followed. After I prayed, itwas almost as if God was saying:
“You don’t want revival — it will ruin your schedule, your dignity, yourimage, and your reputation as a person who is ‘well balanced.’ Men will weep throughout the congregation. Women will wail because of the travail of their own souls.
Young adults will cry likechildren at the magnitude of their sin. With the strength of My presence, the worship team will cease playing. Time will seem to stand still. You won’t be able to preach because of the emotions flooding your own soul. You’ll struggle to find words, but only find tears.
Even the most dignified and reserved among you will be broken and humbled as little children. The proud and self-righteous will not be able to stand in My presence. The doubter and unbeliever will either run for fear or fall on their knees and worship Me — there can be no middle ground. The church will never be the same again.”
Do you truly want a spiritual awakening where the Holy Spirit consumes your heart? The very thing that many need is the very thing that they are running from: More of God!
Ps: Again, I will not go back-and-forth here, but I would love to have a healthy discussion on a podcast—or in person.
@Phil_Johnson_ i’m only 60 minutes north of you. let’s set something up to talk about this very important topic of legitimate revival. DM if interested. I air MacArthurs one minute clips on our radio network: WCFRadio.org

@KaeleyT Scrolling can make it seem that the bulk of the church world is rotten. The reality is that it only represents a certain and limited section. When I think of all the good people I know in many churches, I realize a majority do not argue and post on soc media!
English

I asked Grok to analyze how many hateful or misogynistic comments I field on X a year. It’s not an exact science, but they gave me a ballpark of 20,000.
If I’m brutally honest, it’s been having a pretty negative effect on me, not because I internalize or believe the hate, but because I know so much hostility is out there in the world, and I’m so heavily focused on it so much of the time.
I need to train myself to concentrate on beauty, to focus on Jesus, not those who hate Him. I’m not entirely sure how this change will look. I’m hardwired to fight for things and people I love, but the method needs adjustment so I don’t become bitter.
Go gently out there, folks.

@DavidFish7 I devoured Lake's writings for a season. When I learned of the fraud a few years ago it caused great cognitive dissonance! How could such a person come up with such powerful revelations? At the same time, I did notice contradictions in his writings.

@Pastor_Gabe Luke 7:30 "But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him."
English

@BiblicalBeauty @BilltheCatGuy1 It communicates that we are keeping up with the times. Even McDonalds updates their look so that it does not seem "old." The old wooden pulpit is fine but says, "previous generation." Of course, one can go too far with "updating." Nothing wrong with balance.
English

@BilltheCatGuy1 I could understand coming to the conclusion that the message communicated isn’t massively important. Concluding that nothing is communicated with such a change is something I can’t understand.

@JustinPetersMin Why did he support Gray's convicted (of abuse) husband in prison? On the surface this looks terrible. What is GTY's side of the story concerning the Grays?

I can tell you the exact moment she decided to make John MacArthur the object of her ire: when he was asked in a Q&A panel to give a one word reply to various well known evangelical names, one of whom was Beth Moore. When he replied "Go home" she put him squarely in her crosshairs.
David Morrill@coconservative7
By the time Julie Roys posted her "expose" on MacArthur "shaming" Eileen Gray, she had already published 17 articles attacking GCC for standing up to COVID tyranny, parroting the "Caesar rules the church" state narrative. 1/

@IdlemanShane @JustinPetersMin MLJ's Joy Unspeakable and The Sovereign Spirit were game changers for me. The problem with Peters et al is that they have warranted complaints, but they tend to push so much as to discourage faith for anything beyond ordinary.
English

Responding to my brother @JustinPetersMin for those who may have missed it:
My thought is to disengage many of us from the charismatic circus that you often refer to. Are you aware that D. Martyn Lloyd Jones believed in the supernatural gifts — even when a step farther on the baptism of the Spirit, and he rebuked many of the cold, dead reformed churches of his day.
As I’ve said many times, I use the MacArthur study Bible and I am currently reading a lot of the Puritans — anytime there’s a genuine there is also going to be a counterfeit. We know that.
So what many people are seeing g is counterfeit charlatans taking advantage of people. But that doesn’t mean the gifts are not for us today.
I experience them in my 20s as I was a beer drinking steroid injecting prodigal. It was life-changing the day God filled me with His spirit and I experience the gifts.
As Lloyd Jones says, “we don’t interpret the Bible based on our experiences, but we do interpret our experiences based on the Bible.” Since everything I experienced lined up with scripture, I know I’m in a good spot.
I truly pray for those who have never experienced a deeper work of God‘s spirit. I think fear is keeping them away. And it’s not just about the gifts — it’s about a deeper work of the Spirit.
For example, most cessasionists are also against all night prayer meetings and extended fasting, and the altar filled with people crying out to God. So that tells me it’s not just about the supernatural gifts — it’s also about the deeper work of the Spirit. Something we should long for and desire.

@GSN410270 @RisingDisciples Romans 9 is about the placement or roles of Jews and Gentiles in the plan of redemption. It is not addressing individual salvation.
English

CALVINISM in a nutshell:
God decreed & ordained that every person ever born would be a totally depraved, God-hating SINNER
Before the world began, he preselected specific individuals, "the elect," to be IRRESISTIBLY saved, even though they HATE HIM
He also preselected billions of souls, "the reprobate," to surely be damned to eternal misery in hell because they, too, HATE HIM
God made these arbitrary selections to demonstrate his MERCY upon the elect AND his JUDGMENT upon the reprobate even though the reprobates could not have been or done OTHER THAN what God decreed & ordained them to be & do
These arbitrary selections bring GLORY to him. Don't ask how or why, because "Who art thou, O man, to question GOD?"
Finally, Calvinists know everything & always have all the right answers because God just made them better & wiser than you.
Never forget that!
