Saw videos of the Noida protest and it felt wrong at first. Then I read the full story. These workers have been protesting for a long time, asking for a salary increase. Many of them are earning around ₹10,000 for 10–12-hour shifts. If that’s not exploitation, what is? Even a maid or cook earns more than this in NCR for similar hours. Paying ₹10,000 in the manufacturing sector that too in Delhi NCR, when cylinder and food prices are skyrocketing, is a mockery of these workers.
