@Fremond_ There's no way that UK motorways will ever be able to move as many people per hour as even mainline railway. We just need to pour more money into rail subsidies and make it cheaper and more efficient (look at success of Elizabeth Line for economic argument)

given the way i foresee Great British Rail turning out, it's not crazy to suggest we'll soon be in a situation in which, after Waymo expand their operating area, it may be cheaper to get in a waymo than get the train.

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.

@stalecooper Have had the same at a sold out screening of Memories of Murder as well as people laughing at seriously non comedic moments in One Battle After Another. It's disappointing that some people can't meaningfully engage with art

I had a similar experience at a sold out screening of Blue Velvet a year or two ago. obviously there's plenty to laugh at in that film, but it's fairly easy to tell when the crowd is laughing in connection to the film and when its laughing to distance itself from the film

This screening really convinced me that “movie fans” are legitimately too irony poisoned to enjoy a lot of the art form they’ve devoted themselves too. People in here were laughing at stuff I never even considered someone would laugh at before

I guess "energy abundance" means cancelling one of the largest energy projects in the US during a period of significant load growth.
