@StanCollymore Out of interest why do players seem so desperate to get an extra inch or so? Surely they've practiced corners their whole lives so why does it matter?

Corner placing. In 99% of life when a lined area defines something (road lines, parking spot, writing in books, mathematical equations, etc etc etc ad nauseum) then that definition means staying inside the box or area. In Association Football that meant placing the ball clearly and unambiguously inside the quadrant. Now, along with any number of perfectly sound law applied for generations, you can put your tv on and literally see a corner quadrant empty at a corner and the ball so far out of it that it's hard to know whether to laugh or cry. Sometimes basic logic works. If there's a box or line to put something in, that's where it's supposed to go. Whoever decided a shadow of a ball hanging over the ball is frankly... A fucking idiot.

@DaleJohnsonBBC @JahMC17 When the announcement got made by the referee I’m sure it mentioned line of vision the GK had clear sight of the ball and Robertson doesn’t impede him he is never saving that in a million years we both know that.

After last night's article, it's worth showing the clear difference between the Liverpool offside, and Man City's goal v Wolves which was onside through VAR. At no point is Bernardo Silva near the flight of the ball. Andrew Robertson ducked out of the path of the ball.

@KylePorterNS We just have to use common sense. If you don’t intentionally move the ball then it shouldn’t be a penalty.

Gotta say I find the rules of golf preposterous that you can legally move your ball out of the rough to avoid a sprinkler head, but if your ball moves 1/32 inch because you clipped a stick with a practice swing, it's a two shots. Totally different situations, sure, but the spirit of it seems inconsistent.
