How often does admin say “we’re a tuition-driven university”? Now the univ’s made-up policy on intersession teaching has cost the univ a LOT of revenue & will cost them even more. It’s just 1 of the #arbitration cases, & it’s affecting morale & the Univ’s bottom line.

Hey Scranton alumni, as you gear up for #reUNION weekend please consider letting the administration know that you support a fair contract for faculty.

Another Friday without a tentative agreement on our next contract means another #FACFriday in solidarity as the @scrantonfac table team continues to negotiate on our behalf. #UnionStrong

#FACFriday The amazing research that our students produce in the Biology labs quite simply wouldn't be possible without the hard work and guidance of these two superstars. Thanks for the support! #faircontractnow

Of course that is a 7% decrease from a salary that didn't change from the year before either...

New AAUP salary data shows the average full time faculty salary increased 2% this academic year over last. With the pay freeze of just this year, the inflation impact for us is more like a 7% decrease on our base salary from last year to this year.

Adjusted for inflation, real average salaries for #professors decreased 5 percent year over year, representing the greatest decrease in real-wage growth seen since 1979–80 @AAUP @raulpacheco @StacyDVanDeveer insidehighered.com/news/2022/04/0…
