Prayers for the Emperor / Civil Authority
Good Friday intercessions once explicitly prayed for rulers in a hierarchical order.
These were simplified and generalized, reflecting a shift away from Christendom language.

The Triple Candle (Lumen Christi)
The deacon once carried a three-branched candle, lighting it step by step.
It symbolized the Trinity bringing light into darkness.
This was replaced with the single Paschal candle procession.

@WiciCymru The Welsh church predates the English church. Bangor diocese established 525, Llandaff 545, St Davids 550, St Asaph 560. All decades before Augustine came to Canterbury in 597.

The Church of 🇬🇧 / 🏴 England was separated and disestablished on this day in 1920 (106 years ago) leading to the creation of the 🏴 Church in Wales.
It introduced a religious legal difference to Wales.
Wales is not England.
England is not Wales.
