@iainabernethy This is how I’ve always taught it! either grabbing and clearing like this or the bottom hand covering the midsection as a cover/block and the top hand as an over hand strike. Osu 👊🏻👍🏻

Kenwa Mabuni receiving a “double punch” / yama-zuki. The lower hand is not punching but gripping & clearing a path for the punch. I’ve never been convinced by “double punches” and feel the bottom hand clearing a path (gripping or knocking) is a better way to view the technique.
