@Roblox what you've taken away from the community: classic faces, ability to freely create roblox games for anyone to play, communication, jobs.
what you could do to fix this: listen to your community (brutal), revert all these changes and get better moderation with real moderators.

the impact on legacy games was not an intended outcome of the roblox kids and select global rollout. we are actively working on a fix.
the latest:
- games published before april 13, 2026 will maintain 16+ access, provided they have a completed content maturity questionnaire, regardless of the creator’s facial age estimation status.
- if a creator edits the game or its questionnaire after april 13, that triggers a publish event and the new publishing requirements will apply.

@Roblox what i mean is you're restricting the audience these games can reach, a game like spray paint could have a rating api where if you are the minimal age group then you cant see other's art, and if you were 16+ you could see anyone's art. add moderation and rating api

@Roblox instead of making all free form content games 16+ why not instead add a moderation api where the current ai moderation can actual detect who made the bad art instead of shutting the whole server down.
you are taking jobs away from dev's instead of giving them the tools they need

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform.
To publish for all ages, you now need:
- Roblox Plus;
- ID Verification & Age Check;
- 2-Step Verification enabled;
- and have your account in "good standing".
Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts.
To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need:
- An account in "good standing";
- An age check; and
- An account that is at least 2 days old.
Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use.
Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.

I don’t think this update ends here.
I fully expect Roblox to require Premium and an upload fee to create games.
With all the lawsuits and safety controversies it feels inevitable.

Roblox will require users to have an active 1000 or 2200 Premium subscription to publish 2D clothing. By March 20th, if the item uploader does not have Premium, Roblox will put the item off-sale and delist the item from the marketplace.
