@emollick I'm replacing a lot of my store bought software with custom implementations because it's pretty easy. If it were 100x easier, all my software would be custom. I haven't read a great analysis of what this world looks like, but if you really believe that graph, its coming.

I have been thinking about the famous chart showing how experts keep projecting linear growth in solar installations, year after year, and always get it wrong when growth is still exponential. I think the same thing is happening with the discourse on product strategy around AI.

After using Codex Desktop for weeks opening up Photoshop and trying to do basic operations with its stupid tools is driving me insane. How are these guys still the category winners.

New ChatGPT Desktop bug bricks ChatGPT Desktop roughly every 20 minutes, making it unusable for me. Hoping everyone has this issue and it's not just me. I actually don't want to download it from the app store. @tunguz What are you building? The stuff I'm building is so narrow and abstract that the market size is 10. Like 10 people. I think there are many such cases.

@leochoto89 I actually don't feel qualified to give advice at this point. There won't be any human programmers in 2 years. Maybe Computer Science. Dunno.

@VraserX Never? You can't compress the encoded knowledge of those models into 16GB.

I keep wondering when local AI models running on normal 16 GB RAM machines will catch up to what GPT-5.6 Sol and Fable 5 can do today. My guess is around 18 months. What do you think?

What should you do when a D&D player misses a session? You've got three options: 1. Another player runs their character. 2. The DM runs their character. 3. The character simply isn't there. I've used all three over the years. I've found one of them is clearly the best choice. What do you think?
