@MrDanielBuck I loved the public school in my hometown. I also know who is on their school board these days and have seen my former teachers on Facebook and wouldn't send my child.

I gotta be honest. I think conservatives are giving up on something incredibly good, American, and yes conservative if we give up on neighborhood public schools Many of these are beloved, storied institutions. They bring us together. Call me a squish, but I still love public education.

@emzanotti No. Republicans need to talk more about all of those issues. Trump is Trump but we don't have to stop calling out bad when bad is in front of us because the president doesn't care about two guys and their alleged crimes. Call it out, regardless of party.

Kids love weddings. Kids enjoy them more than adults do. It’s always funny having these kinds of conversations on this platform. So many people have no experience around kids and it really shows.

@classicallyabby This was a driving factor for leaving a book club that I otherwise loved. Half of the books chosen had pages filled with smut which I refuse to read. It became an uncomfortable joke that I probably struggled with some of the books and I regret not defending myself more.

Can we discuss the "smut" novels women are reading? Pornography is not good for men - we can recognize that. But for some reason, smut has become completely normalized for women. Women are literally reading graphic sex scenes in bed next to their husbands. Can you imagine a man doing the same thing with pornography on his phone and it just being considered...fine? Pornography creates completely insane and unrealistic standards for what sex is really like, and smut works the same way. The relationships are not realistic - purposefully, because then how would it make a good plot - and the men are idealized beyond comprehension. And the sex scenes themselves only set women up for disappointment. Is this going to be discussed, or are we all going to say books are books and reading is always a net positive?
