My friend in Iran is being forced to wear hijab even with progressive parents who dosent want her to and was threatened to be beaten up on the streets once and mfs are telling me about some choices and shit no abolish the whole religion tf🫩

@dracmtzz You are right in many cases, but this framing doesn’t neatly fit into the discrimination and bloodshed Muslims face today. Because violence against Muslims has been perpetrated and supported by atheists too. As has the opposite.

@talalthinks I clarified on a different reply but yes, religious conflicts do exist in the context where both parties genuinely believe in the religion But that is literally one of the reasons why I believe religions are cancer to this world Dosent mean religion is the only bad thing

@dracmtzz Yes. They were. And religious hate because of religious understandings obviously exists. I hate that too. But I want you to challenge your claim, because conflicts often involve religion but do not always center them. Sometimes, like in colonial Algeria, secularism was violent.

@dracmtzz Thank you. Look, we’ve argued a lot. And I was frustrated at some points. But I think both of us tried to engage with mutual respect and good faith. All I ask you to do is just go over my responses and try to understand my claims and points of view.
