You speaking for your deceased father when you never asked him once. Go and study history to learn what you didn’t meet or heard. It was never eradicated, it faded away with new belief systems and it now make it look immoral and taboo. I’m afraid your children will also argue yorubas are originally Christians while Northerners are Muslims
English

@temple124us @ChuksEricE There is no such custom in yoruba land. As part of my law degree at SOAS I studied customs "repugnant to natural justice, equity, and good conscience," If there was then it must have been eradicated at least a century ago. My dad died in his 90's and never heard of such.
English

@opeoluwa_sledge @ChuksEricE You are a fool for that first question. Being a Yoruba man doesn’t mean you know better. Empty skull, go and ask people that know better. You were born yesterday into civilization and missionary
English

@temple124us @ChuksEricE What’s your age that you want to correct me on my culture, between you and I who should have facts, I think like a Yoruba man and this thing you guys do disgust my Yoruba self, this gutter behavior is disgusting
English

@PrezedntOfMyFam @yoruba_firstt1 @Oluwakayod25427 @ChuksEricE Heard? Where you wan hear am? The truth Dey your great grand father mouth before missionary and urbanization ate their children so deep
English

@temple124us @yoruba_firstt1 @Oluwakayod25427 @ChuksEricE I’ve never heard about it in South West, I don’t know if they do it.
English

@opueh001 @ChuksEricE Both culture share a lot in common until civilization and missionary came. Don’t take it personal
English

@temple124us @ChuksEricE abeg don mix ur culture with yoruba abeg . make una talk sbout una culture and stop pairing us together for everything. we are not twins
English

@yoruba_firstt1 @Oluwakayod25427 @PrezedntOfMyFam @ChuksEricE Don’t default what you don’t know. Some of you even came few decades ago to this world. You people have grandmas but you don’t ask them questions
English

@PrezedntOfMyFam @temple124us @ChuksEricE It is also part of Yoruba culture, just that modernity has changed things.
In typical Yoruba tradition, young widows don't leave their late husband's families, the husband's younger Brother/cousin simply re-marries them
English

@femiakande60 @ChuksEricE Ask elders that know better. Don’t assume because you came few decades ago. You met missionaries and civilization
English

@temple124us @ChuksEricE This is untrue. Yoruba do not have such practises.
English

@Oluwakayod25427 @Odinkim23 @PrezedntOfMyFam @ChuksEricE God bless you. They wan finish me 😂. All these Genz
English

@Odinkim23 @PrezedntOfMyFam @temple124us @ChuksEricE Gen-Z guys ,may not know.
Even European noble families do it it too,as well as jews
English

@sansbrown_zz @ChuksEricE Ask elders at home . Missionaries modified your culture. I’m sure your children will grow to know Yoruba to be Christians 😹.
English

@temple124us @ChuksEricE Yoruba stopped it even before Nigeria
English

@opeoluwa_sledge @ChuksEricE Go Ask your elders. Missionary adulterated the culture before Dey born you.
If they no gree tell you, come back let me school you
English

@temple124us @ChuksEricE No add Yoruba to this nonsense Abeg
English

I sat beside a married man at an event today
First thing he asked:
"Are you married?"
I said no.
He just smiled and said:
"Good… because I’m trying not to commit adultery."
Omo… my attention complete
Then he asked:
"Is it normal for a husband to always be the one to initiate intimacy?"
I reminded him I’m not married
But it looked like the man just needed someone to talk to.
He said they have 2 kids…
And in all their years together, he’s always the one making the first move.
Not like his wife refuses… according to him, 8 out of 10 times, she agrees.
But he said…
"Sometimes I want to feel wanted too."
Omo… that line hit me.
He said women at work, even around his neighbourhood, show interest…
But he has never cheated.
Now he’s tempted…
Not because he lacks intimacy…
But because he misses feeling desired.
What's the best advice for him?
English

@temple124us @Disrupttor I can tell you for a fact that fake ielts results exist and hardly discovered unless a whistle blowing like this happens.

Just heard a story that’s still ringing in my head.
UK-based Naija nurse. Husband was beating her. She did the right thing, called the police, reported him, and went further to call Home Office to remove him from her CoS.
Power move. Or so she thought.
This man, in retaliation, went to NMC and reported that her IELTS was fake.
NMC investigated. Found her guilty. Wiped her off the register.
Both of them are back in Nigeria now.
Choose your enemies carefully. Some people will burn the whole house down with them inside, just to make sure you burn too.
Who was wrong?
English
