Marriage is beautiful when it works. But when it doesn’t? Divorce is the mature, responsible choice. Forcing a partner to stay miserable doesn’t honor marriage, it mocks it.

The refund isn't a problem at all. My own case is different. He came back and we married. The promises was inter-visiting but 5 whole yrsssssss. If I had a child, he'd be calling me mummy now. And money isn't his problem.

@janequin_ Your family should just refund the bride price and he should try to move on. I have been in Europe before and I know a lot of Nigerians whose family married on their behalf and left the wife in Nigeria as a statue. To be honest I won't allow my sister to be in such a situation.

To every woman (or man) scared to leave: You’re not selfish for wanting respect, presence, love, and safety. Kids don’t need two unhappy parents under one roof. They need stable, healed ones. Divorce can give everyone a fresh start. I'll keep glowing
