Visiting the USA? How to find the best hamburger in America. Or at least in the town you're in. Do NOT go to a chain. It's not Whataburger. It's not In-N-Out. Find a local man, and ask him to point you to a one-of-a-kind local place. (I say a local man, because they are likelier to know the joints.) That mom-and-pop joint will have burgers superior to any chain. Their shakes will be better too (and have more variety). Here are four examples from four different places in my home valley. All are one-of-a-kind and all four have better burgers, buns, and ingredients than any chain. (The places are Burger Supreme, Purple Turtle, Nate's Drive In, and Provo Burger.) Americans, back me up.

I lived in #Hungary for 13 years. I go back every two months. I know this country the way you only can when you’ve actually lived in it, not from a headline, not from a think tank report. From the streets. From the people. From watching it work. I left Western Europe where I lived for 16 years because I watched something happen there that most people couldn’t name while it was happening. Sovereignty got quietly traded away. The euro came in. Prices followed. Freedoms got smaller. The decisions that used to belong to the people started belonging to the tyrants in Brussels. Hungary watched all of that and said no. They kept the forint. That wasn’t a small thing. That was a signal, this country still answers to its own people first. Today Hungarians vote. And I want to be straight with you about what’s happening around this election. There are credible reports of a planned destabilization, what some are already calling a color revolution, being prepared in the event the results don’t go the way outside forces want. A leaked video shows foreign soldiers planning positions if the Globalists lose. Foreign money has been pouring into this election cycle for months to manipulate the vote (like they did in Poland, Romania, Moldova) Be watchful. Know what that pattern looks like before it unfolds. Is Hungary perfect? No. Of course not. Nobody is. But I’ve walked Budapest at 3am and felt safe. The city is clean. No mass immigration or 400% increases in crime like in Western European nations. The people, some are struggling, sure, that happens everywhere, but they are making their own decisions for their own country. Without asking permission from the people who are out to ruin them. 🇭🇺 Stand strong today, Hungary. The people in that voting booth are the ones who get to decide. Not Brussels. Not outside money. Not foreign soldiers in secret meetings. You. As an American outsider with Eastern Europe roots, my read on Hungary's election is this: Magyar is conservative, but less corrupt than Orban. That could explain why he wins this weekend. Today, Hungary is socially and economically behind the Baltics and Poland. IMHO, it's too cozy with America's enemies. You can be Eurosceptic without embracing the regimes of Russia, China, and Iran.

@RichardHanania We're going to find out really soon how much has Orban undermined democracy. If he manages somehow to stay in power after Sunday's election, then democracy is really dead in Hungary. If not, than he was too soft to be called a dictator.

My view on Orban is that the postliberals argue that you trade in normal democratic practice and accept corruption because you care about outcomes. But Hungary hasn't done that well economically, and its fertility rate is meh. Orban supporters had a perfect test case to apply their theories. Little good came out of it. This is despite massive subsidies from the more liberal EU. I am willing to believe that the mainstream press exagarattes the degree to which Orban has undermined democracy. Hungary arrests people for speech less than most Western European countries. But I don't know exactly what you're getting out of Orban's anti-Western kleptocracy.

US-Präsident Trump verspricht den Ungarn die größtmögliche wirtschaftliche Unterstützung der USA, wenn sie Victor Orban am kommenden Sonntag zum Ministerpräsidenten wiederwählen. Das ist so erbärmlich. Nicht nur, weil US-Vizepräsident Vance kürzlich der EU bei einem Wahlkampf-Auftritt in Ungarn belegfrei eine unzulässige Einmischung in den ungarischen Wahlkampf vorwarf. Denn wie sehr kann man sich als Staats- und Regierungschef in den Wahlkampf eines anderen Landes öffentlich einmischen, als wenn man ihm im Gegenzug für die Wahl des richtigen Kandidaten finanzielle Unterstützung verspricht? So richtig erbärmlich wird das erst, weil die Unterstützung an eine zu erfüllende Bedingung geknüpft wird. Diese Unterstützung wird aber von Trump als nahezu bedingungslos verkauft. Weil Ungarn so ein toller Verbündeter sei. Weil ihm also die Ungarn so besonders am Herzen liegen würden. Tun sie aber nicht! Sie sind für die Unterstützung nur so lange relevant, wie sie "richtig wählen". Andernfalls gibt es eben keine Unterstützung. Was für eine erbärmliche Respektlosigkeit dem ungarischen Volk gegenüber! Die aber auch zeigt: Trump/MAGA ist in Panik und weiß, was die Stunde geschlagen hat. Dass nämlich das ungarische Volk klug genug ist, um nicht auf diesen Bestechungsversuch hereinzufallen, sondern seine eigene souveräne Entscheidung zu treffen. Ich wünsche dem ungarischen Volk für seine Wahl am 12. April alles Gute. Für Europa. Für Ungarn. 🇪🇺🇭🇺

Not so long ago, I would have applauded this idea. Especially after Americas treatment of Ukraine. But today, this idea makes me chuckle wryly. I’ve been working as an assistant to an MEP for about a year now. I’ve been able to see the inner workings of the EU. I’m sorry to say, but I cannot see a “European army” forming at all. If it did, they would do nothing but militarily exercises—if they even get that far. They would never agree to act on the world stage. In fact, most European countries would rather have “diplomatic relations” with bad actor, even if it’s harmful. Even if those actors stand against everything they claim to uphold. Most of Europe’s leaders are like Chamberlain. They all want to wave flimsy agreements and call it peace. Without the US, Europe is lost. It’s a difficult pill to swallow. But it’s true. There is no denying that without Europe, America will have a difficult time projecting power across the globe. But the US is absurdly powerful—even then.

It is largely nonsense, when US Americans claim that they pay for the defence of Europe. They spend a lot of money on their millitary, but that is entirely their own choice, and it does not go to having troops in Europe. Russia's annual military budget was 140 billion USD in 2024. Europe spends three times more and it is rising rapidly. Europe is thus well on its way to becoming a military super power and is fully capable of defending itself.

As someone with Hungarian roots, I have deep respect for Hungary’s history as a freedom-loving nation that stood up to Soviet oppression in 1956. But today, under Prime Minister Orbán, Hungary has become the most unreliable country in NATO and undermined Ukraine and our allies from within. The BLOCK PUTIN Act makes clear there will be consequences for blocking support to Ukraine, deepening reliance on Russian energy, and reinforces our commitment to our allies.

I am going to describe what will happen in Hungary 🇭🇺 on April 12 and 13; we have already seen this scenario play out in Georgia 🇬🇪 Around 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM on April 12, the opposition will start making noise. They will do everything possible to circulate social media posts suggesting that Orban is losing the election and that his only path to victory is through rigging it. For this, they will need some video evidence, and in all likelihood, the opposition already has actors selected to participate in this performance. Around 5:00 PM, they will claim for the first time how easily the opposition is winning and will call on people to go to the polls for final victory. By 7:00 PM, they will gradually start talking about how the opposition is winning despite the election being rigged! At 8:00 PM, they will declare themselves the winners and, for added conviction, will pop a few bottles of champagne. Late at night on April 12, it will become known that Orban’s party is winning the election, and this is where the main part of the performance begins. They will claim that Orban rigged the election and that every single vote must be defended. On April 13, it will finally be confirmed that Orban’s party has won. The opposition will then announce a protest rally and declare the ruling party illegitimate. We have already seen this scenario in Georgia 🇬🇪, and agents funded by Ursula and Soros, along with NGO members raised on easy money, will repeat the same. Das sehen die Ungarn anders. Orban-Konkurrent Magyar führt in allen Umfragen und nein, er ist weder links noch woke, er ist stockkonservativ, nur eben nicht korrupt wie Orban.
