@TshegoLemao @Malatjie_ The trick is to open capitec/tyme bank, when u get paid, u transfer money that you'll use on a daily bases to this account so that you'll have less transactions on SB one, therefore you will have less charges if u are not using it that much.

Please consider sending the car via train to a lot in Johannesburg so you can reduce driving time to 5 hours.
I don’t know how much it costs to do that but for a 1700km trip you’re looking at 4 full tanks which works out to be +/- 4k.
Comments are advising that you split the trip into two and get some rest. That’s accommodation plus food which pushes average expenditure to 5k. That’s 10k for a return trip.
Even if the price is similar, I imagine you’d be a lot less tired.

@RediTlhabi No African should need visa to travel on the continent. I have seen academics missing conferences because they were unable to obtain a visa. A free visa regime will not make all Africans to migrate to their richer neighboring country. @ClaysonMonyela

And South Africans need a visa to travel to Nigeria- a e-visa or embassy issued one. Same when traveling to Addis and many other African countries. And if people want to argue that there should be no visa requirements for Africans traveling in Africa, that is a different topic. Until that is the adopted policy, the current one stands and cannot be changed at the airport, by a rich Nigerian businessman.
You are a diplomat so you can't say this. I'll say it. In Nigeria an expired visa would not have been a problem for a rich man.

He arrived with an expired visa. Every country including Nigeria is expected to apply the law without fear or favour.
