On March 4, 2025, Adetunji “Teejay” Opayele was hit in a road accident in Victoria Island, Lagos. He was a co-founder of Bumpa and a well-known figure in Nigeria’s tech space. That evening, he was riding his power bike home from the gym when a car, driven by Biola Adams-Odutayo, collided with him along Ozumba Mbadiwe Road. The impact left him badly injured on the road. According to a petition, after the crash, Adams-Odutayo did not immediately step out of her vehicle to check on Opayele. It was further alleged that when bystanders approached her companion, she said she did not want blood to stain her car. The petition also stated that while Opayele lay unconscious but still breathing, Adams-Odutayo, who is said to work in the healthcare sector, remained on a phone call for over 30 minutes rather than directly assisting or assessing the situation. Opayele was reportedly taken to two different hospitals, but both refused to admit him. In an effort to save his life, bystanders returned to the accident scene, placed him in a minibus, and asked Adams-Odutayo to accompany them. It was claimed that she eventually followed, after initially resisting, and that she remained at the scene because bystanders prevented her from leaving. Shortly afterwards, Opayele’s brother arrived at the scene and met a Samaritan who had been holding onto his belongings. They proceeded to the hospital where he had been taken, and upon arrival, he was confirmed dead in the early hours of March 5, 2025. This delay has become one of the most criticised aspects of the case. Nigerian law requires hospitals to provide emergency care without delay, but this is not always consistently followed. Many observers believe that the delay in treatment made a serious injury worse and may have contributed to Teejay’s death, raising questions about whether he could have survived with faster medical attention within the “golden hour.” Teejay's death quickly spread across social media and within Nigeria’s tech community. Many people expressed shock and sadness over the incident. Following the accident, the driver was charged with reckless and careless driving instead of manslaughter, a decision many Nigerians feel does not reflect the severity of the situation. Her release on bail on a sum of ₦1 million and two sureties, which she met on the same day, also caused further public concern, as it was seen by many as too lenient given the circumstances of the case. From road safety lapses to delayed emergency response, from hospital negligence to contested legal proceedings, the death of Adetunji Opayele has come to symbolise more than a single loss and the tragedy of a life cut short. It is a stark reflection of institutions that, at critical moments, failed to protect one of their own. #HistoryVille #CrimeStories

Walking around Eyes Clinic of Adeoyo Hospital in Ibadan today & you can feel the brilliance of past builders. The curves, arches, and walkways were designed with purpose, not guesswork. Even decades later, the structure still speaks quality, vision, and intentional craftsmanship.

You saw the porn clip on your timeline. You didn't scroll past it, you calmed down and clicked on it. When you clicked on it, you didn't get pissed off at the first 30 seconds. No! You relaxed and watched the entire 4 minutes and your epon kept vibrating all this while. After watching, you're now intentionally mentioning porn in your tweet so the algorithm could pick up and serve you more as you scroll. I'm not concerned about this hypocrisy, but I'm concerned that this dude is a potential Imam.

Thirdly, the ambulance finally took off. I insisted the Consultant accompany her as the most experienced personnel available. I drove behind the ambulance, which stopped twice on the way. Upon reaching Lagos Island from Ikate, a trip of about 15 minutes giving the time of the night, I noticed the ambulance appeared lost. I overtook them to inquire, and a nurse informed me they were heading to "Marina." Suspecting they meant a government hospital on Broad Street, I then led them to Lagos Island Maternity Hospital (LIMH), where my wife was pronounced Dead on Arrival. LIMH issued a note for her body to be deposited at the General Hospital morgue. Gynescope Specialist Hospital reluctantly issued a death certificate claiming the cause of death was Cardiac Arrest. However, my wife’s body was taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for an autopsy as part of the Coroner’s Inquest. LUTH has now issued a death certificate clearly stating the cause of death to be Hemorrhagic Shock, directly contradicting the Hospital’s claim. STEPS TAKEN I have written to the Lagos State Government through the Hon. Commissioner for Health, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Permanent Secretary, Health Service Commission. I have also petitioned the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), calling for a thorough investigation into the events of 3rd–4th December 2025 at Gynescope Specialist Hospital, and the circumstances under which my wife painfully lost her life. Where applicable, appropriate sanctions and/or criminal prosecution be undertaken. I demand accountability. #MedicalNegligence #JusticeForLovelyn Signed: Justice John.

Jay is a fine young man living with Oral cancer in Uyo. His treatment takes place in Calabar, so he has to travel about 3 hours each way for treatment. He is undergoing 6 cycles of chemo for N500k each, which is what he could afford. However, a better treatment exists for N1.2m per cycle, which amounts to N7.2m. He will also need reconstructive surgery after the chemo is completed. So far, the public has raised N4.2m for him. Cancer is aggressive, so we can not say how much in total would be needed. But we will complete the chemo treatment balance for him. After the chemo, he would need facial reconstructive surgery. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated. Please raise it for him 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 0054727887 Access Bank John Bassey.

I have been dating Femi for 3 years. Femi is a "good man." He is a civil engineer, struggling but promising. He loves me with everything. But love doesn't pay for Bone Straight wigs or an iPhone 15. That is where Chief comes in. Chief is my "financial pillar." He is married, living in GRA. He knows I have a "boyfriend," but he thinks Femi is just a broke student I will eventually dump. Yesterday was my birthday. I had calculated everything perfectly. Dinner with Femi from 6 PM to 8 PM at a nice lounge in GRA. Then I would tell Femi I have a headache and need to sleep, so I could go meet Chief at his hotel by 9 PM. The plan was solid. Or so I thought. At 7:30 PM, Femi signaled the waiter. The music changed. The waiter brought a cake with "Will You Marry Me?" written on it. Femi went on one knee. He brought out a ring. It wasn't a diamond, but it was beautiful. He started speaking about how I stuck with him through the trenches. The whole restaurant was clapping. People were bringing out their phones to record. I was smiling, but my heart was beating fast. I wanted to say "Yes" quickly so we could leave. "Yes, Femi! Yes!" I screamed. He slid the ring on my finger. He stood up to hug me. That was when the music stopped abruptly. I looked at the entrance. Walking in, surrounded by two mobile policemen, was Chief. He wasn't smiling. He was holding a huge bouquet of flowers and a car key. He had tracked my iPhone location (the one he bought) to surprise me for my birthday. He saw Femi hugging me. He saw the ring on my finger. The restaurant went silent. Femi looked at Chief. Chief looked at Femi. Chief didn't fight. He didn't shout. He just walked up to our table, looked me in the eye, and laughed a cold, dry laugh. He pointed at Femi and asked me, "Asa, is this the small boy you said is just your coursemate?" Femi looked at me, confused. "Asa, who is this man?" I couldn't speak. I was freezing. Chief turned to Femi and said, "Young man, congratulations. You want to marry her? Good. But I hope you can maintain the maintenance. The hair on her head, N450k, I paid for it last week. The dress she is wearing, I bought it in Dubai. The phone she is using to record this happy moment, I bought it." Femi looked at me. He looked at the ring on my finger. He looked at the Chief. The shame was burning my skin. Femi didn't ask me any questions. He didn't ask for an explanation. He just quietly removed his hand from my waist. He looked at me with disgust, total disgust, and walked out of the restaurant. He didn't even ask for the ring back. Chief looked at me, dropped the car key he brought for my birthday into his pocket, and said, "You are a greedy fool. You lost a husband, and you lost a sponsor. Happy Birthday." He walked out with his MOPOLs. I stood there alone in the middle of the restaurant, wearing an engagement ring from a man who hates me, wearing a dress from a man who dumped me, while strangers recorded my shame to post on @instablog9ja.

Advocacy For Good Governance@governance_101·
This is one of the most unpatriotic statements I have ever heard in my life. If you understand what this man said here, then you will understand how disturbing it is to have people with this type of mindset run our government. What he said outrightly here is that they at ACN (now APC) knew that Jonathan's government was doing well. They knew that the policy he was trying to implement was very good for Nigeria and Nigerians but because they didn't want him to succeed they lied to Nigerians about the policy. We knew that Jonathan was right but because we wanted to take power, we found a way to condemn what he was doing and even deceived Nigerians to come out and protest against it. Simply put, what this man is saying here is that they knew Nigeria was heading to a good direction but they disrupted it for their own selfish reasons. What it means is that these guys don't mind putting Nigeria in a bad condition just so they can get power. This is so serious and so disturbing. He is actually saying that all the protests they organised against Jonathan were fake and NEVER about the interest of Nigeria or Nigerians but just for them to grab power. Now I understand why Peter Obi would always say, that he won't be in any coalition just for the sake of grabbing power. This statement from this man shows you that the people in power right now don't give a damn about Nigerians. Now you understand why they implement these harsh policies since 2015. Now you understand why they live in plenty while Nigerians are becoming poorer by the day. Now you understand why APC has thrown over hundred million Nigerians into poverty. It's simple. They don't care. Everything is politics for them. They play politics with people's lives. Very dangerous and very pathetic. God forbid. Dear Nigerians, this man has told us plainly that APC is not in power for you but for themselves. We must do something about it in 2027.

Hearing all these stories about gas scarcity makes my decision to switch to electric cooking age really well. If you’ve got a solar inverter setup, consider using induction cookers - they’re far more efficient than gas or traditional electric cookers. heat based electric cookers
Othell Yarwyck@bigbrovar

Buy of the year: an induction cooker 🔥. Now all my cooking runs on self generated solar power. Currently cooking beans at 6/10 power settings, and the induction + 2×1.5hp ACs + everything else at home is still under 3kW of electricity use. Saving on electricity & gas.
