@tomaspueyo @jaddeyekabir What provides so much energy to the tectonic plates for them to be able to literally move (and crash into) entire continents?!

On a recent talk show, Lewis Hamilton said that one extra kilo of bodyweight could lose him 2 seconds in a race.
At a Formula One level, that could even be the difference between a win or a loss.
It struck me hard.
Even for those of us who care for our fitness, our weight can easily yo-yo between 1-3 kilos in a week.
One Friday evening out, one stress-eating session, one night of bad sleep, or some salty stuff consumed one day. Each one of these ‘regular’ things can push our weight up.
How hard must it be for elite athletes, who operate under tremendous pressure, to walk this tightrope of fitness.
Because it’s not about how much you workout or how well you care for yourself, it is about how many temptations you consistently say no to.
Over and over.
A hard reminder that exceptional performance is not only the result of exceptional talent, but of an exceptional level of commitment.
Demonstrated every single day, in every single decision.
You emerge as exceptional because you live and work exceptionally.

I agree at the individual level. But at the sovereign level, the frame shifts. Nations don’t operate in abstraction; they respond to constraints, incentives, and strategic realities. What appears zero-sum in theory can sometimes be a response to asymmetry in practice.
Eg. Anti-dumping may be to correct distortion?

"CRAP! Wrong carrier!"
The famous aborted Sukhoi Su-33 aborted aircraft carrier landing (no this isn´t AI or simulator, this video had been aroung long before that was a thing - in fact one of the first "viral videos" I´ve seen).
Not sure of the inciden´t date, but likely early 90s, when the Soviet´s Navy (sole) aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov was still active.
Note also how close the jet´s arresting hook was from catching one of the control cables: this guy was really lucky.

That's part of why we're building @Thinkly — space for thinking over signalling, dialogue over performance, nuance over noise.

I said "He will himself bring down the tone..." He has.
Has made a call. We must see tariffs come down and trade deal done too. Facepalm to all those who were blaming PM for issues and asking him to compromise to unreasonable demands.

Aravind@aravind
I am sorry to use this word for a president and Modi ji's good friend, but Trump will be 'tamed' soon because he has gotten too wild with India. Perhaps the only country that has stood its ground in this tariff war he has imposed. He will himself bring down the tone and tariffs.

Not sure if the $1M Article Prize on X was a good idea, @elonmusk
Now people are using @grok and @ChatGPTapp to turn one-line thoughts into 1000-word word salads 🤦🏻♂️
